i have some questions about gravity maybe i missed something
but i really want to know
1. will there be multiple directioned gravity
2. will planets rotate and have an orbit
3. can you stand on the bottom of an planet
if these are answered i have some more questions

Re: gravity ?
Yes to all 3. We discussed this at length in the planet shapes thread on the Development board.

Really? The orbit one?fr0stbyte124 wrote:Yes to all 3. We discussed this at length in the planet shapes thread on the Development board.
I didn't hear about that. It's going to be a paiiin to fight in orbit.

Re: gravity ?
We can simplify flight controls so that you can match your frame of reference to that of other moving bodies. Absolute velocity isn't terribly useful in space unless you are reaching your speed limit (and who knows how that will work).
Re: gravity ?
because i thought of needing less engine power to go through space by hopping from orbit to orbit
and how would gravity in ships work
or if you get upside down in an planets gravity
or even better if an upside down fighter flys into an carrier with gravity ... ?

Re: gravity ?
Planets won't be close enough together that you have to consider Lagrange points.
Re: gravity ?
Lagrange points exist whether you want them or not. The question is, do we cop out like KSP does, or do we just not simulate gravity.fr0stbyte124 wrote:Planets won't be close enough together that you have to consider Lagrange points.

Re: gravity ?
I'm voting for cop out, or at least simplify it to point physics. If we have multiple gravity wells close to one another, we can always have a computer assistance for getting the orbit vector right or hitting a Lagrange point.

Re: gravity ?
To be fair, a 5km cube isn't big enough to have a proper orbit anyway.
This is a signature.
Re: gravity ?
Deimos is 15km and has an escape velocity of 5 m/s. That's actually about as fast as you could sprint. It's gravity is 4mm/s.
You could get into orbit with a jump.

Wait so artificial grav is a thing?
