idk, that'd be up to you guys
got some more stuff done
some vfx, attacking, and started texturing the mongrel. I'll have to go back and unwrap it again before I start detailing, though - it looks distorted enough to be distracting.

couldn't hurt
If you just want to send the raw audio I can work it in. I was running both mic and system sound for the video recording; that's why everything sounded so weird .-.

Please wait up to 9 hours for the audio. I have to sleep sometime.

Holy fuck, despite that being a major way away from a multiplayer space experience, that looks wonderful.

Sweet. Kind of makes me want to draw some ships.
Here are some older concepts of smaller craft. The Crone would really be the only usable one. Maybe a Humboldt but those just aren't very good.
And a newer one. Think I made this for Tiel's RTS.

I can't see the vidya on tablet, but I assume is gud. Sorry for not getting the designs posted yesterday; turns out i don't have illustrator installed on the new computer yet, so I'll need to wing it somehow

Re: Bellum Stellarum (Working Title)
I seem to remember Tiel posting a ship mesh to Where We Left Off, and I seem to recall it looking pretty alright for a strikecraft model.

You mean
?
That's a capital ship lol. Idk, I made it in another program and it'd be a pain to port it over.
Also: I'm going to stop working on anything meaningful for a bit. The engine isn't mine so I want to see if I can make it work the way I want it to.

Oh my god!!! Actual things! Ships! Lasers! Progress!
Even if it isn't quite Futurecraft, it's good that something has come of the trainwreck I started all those years ago.
Excellent work CannonFodder (you were TIel, yes?)

@Tiel: Saw the video. Approve.
Seems all I have is Paint for designing, so try to find something better.
EDIT: Tiel or whoever, if you want to draw up a basic list of phrases for units, I think I can record OK-quality lines (probably GSI). See if I can get a Google Doc about that started.

Re: Bellum Stellarum (Working Title)
I'll write some stuff up when I have the time. If you need a drawing program, InkScape or Gimp are pretty decent (the latter is the only free image app I know that has a straight line feature).
Lastly, a question. For better or worse I guess I'm on this again, if only to finish what I started. But I've encountered some limitations on the current path and realized another one, so I'd ask for input. Right now the engine I'm using is not suited for a science fiction game. It is, however, quite streamlined in its workflow. A release would come very quickly, but in the project would be inferior to the second option. Development could move to a more general-purpose engine, in which the constraints of the game would be set by me and thus be as complex as needed. Yet I'm no fr0st - coding said engine to work in a way complimentary to the strategic genre would take time that could otherwise be spent finishing assets and ultimately the game.
Basically speed vs quality. Do you want something playable ASAP or a more full-fledged release in a handful of months? I'm leaving the choice to you, this isn't my ship (though I may be driving it right now).
