Welcome to Nova Legion, one of the largest merc bands in the sector. I'm Gamma Battlegroup Commander, Smoke. Whether you joined for the money or the action, don't matter to me. What does matter to me is you. How well you fight is how well I get paid. You've been assigned to Corsair's Reverie. Assault frigate. It's mostly given the small jobs, settling gang disputes and such, but business has been picking up recently. They got some heavier arms a little while back, better for cleaning up the hard targets. Lots of new recruits've been assigned to the Reverie, too. Seems like the Brass's got a few contracts in line, big ones. Just my thoughts, of course, but if I were you, I would be getting a little friendlier with my rifle.

You are a mercenary of the Nova Legion, onboard the frigate Corsair's Reverie, the second largest ship of the four in Battlegroup Gamma, and one of two that are currently in operating condition. Characters can be fresh off the recruitment net or hardened, veteran mercs. GMs will serve as your employers or commanders and will provide objectives and locations. The ship's armory contains quite a wide assortment of weapons. In the hangar are several multirole aerospace fighters and a small dropship capable of transporting one of the tanks or mechs that are too large to enter atmosphere in a droppod.

Personality: Reclusive; values the end product of what he works toward more than any interaction along the way.

Perks: Very focused on the task at hand, doesn't let secondary objectives get in the way of the desired end result.

Flaws: Very focused on the task at hand, finds social interaction a chore and would rather hurry up and get the mission down than dawdle.

Backstory (include any combat experience ant training): Laryx is something of a misnomer among Protectorate society. Where most Tiens serve at the very least a few years in the military, he haplessly idled in a regiment of the Planetary Marine corps before submitting a resignation and taking several culinary courses at a prestigious galactic academy. He never really picked up anything superb there, but still acquired enough skill to be better than most at food preparation. Now, the young adult Tien has signed on as a mercenary for lack of anything better to do, combining his military training in heavy vehicles with cooking skills to do...stuff. It's a living.

Name: Thomas Saxon

Species: Cybernetically enhanced human

Gender: Male

Role, specialties: Assault Trooper. Specializes in CQC (Close Quarter Combat). He also knows how to survive in an isolated situation.

Personality: Can be blunt sometimes. He is also tenacious with what he's doing, so he will do his utmost to ensure that a task is completed.

Perks: Cybernetically enhanced (strength, speed, etc). IQ of 135.

Flaws: Vunerable to powerful EMPs.

Backstory (include any combat experience and training): Thomas Saxon was born on Cyrania II, in The Orion Confederation. He was brought up in a military life. At age 17, he enrolled in the Confederation Military Institute. He was a part of the ROTC. When he graduated, he joined the Shock Troopers as a Lieutenant. After 8 months of boredom, he finally got action. During the war against NeoRome, he was one of the first troopers in the ground on the 2nd planet assaulted. He stayed there until the 3rd Fleet evacuated him 7 weeks later. After retiring from the service at age 38, he joined the Nova Legion for money abd excitement.

Personality: Very friendly and very likable, pragmatic, and logically-thinking.

Perks: Very good with technology, intelligent, and able to create many a gadgets from scratch.

Flaws: Not very strong and very little military training; likely to rely on comrades for protection

Backstory (include any combat experience ant training): Derrick was a top-graduate student from the Antioch Technology Institute (ATI) for astounding marks in nearly every field. He was able to acquire a private ship, and with a hand-picked crew, traveled to nearly every other empire for knowledge. He thoroughly studied many unique pieces of technology from each faction, including the Strigiforme's heavy shielding, Darkstar's cloaking, and the EE's psionics. This abruptly came to an end when NeoRome arrested him while passing through a backwater colony, charging him with conspiracy against the empire. Just before his execution, however, he was able to persuade the council to let him go, in exchange for knowledge of other empire's systems. His ship had been destroyed, and he found nowhere to go. He realized that he could make a fortune in mercenary work, and he would be able to make his own equipment. Running with this idea, he joined the Nova Legion and qualified for a high-ranking position aboard one of the ships.



ALSO; We should do this RP in parallel to the empire RP! As in, this RP is directly tied to the events in the empire RP, and vice-versa. EXAMPLE- A NeoRoman technology facility is raided here, and in empire RP, technology/intel was stolen and given to another empire for reverse-engineering. Or there's a war, and we're hired to take out planetary defense systems.

Good, no? An interesting twist.

Personality: A little closed and cold,mantaining a stric conduct in battle.

Perks: Very inteligent. fast due to implants. Long range view with the eye sensors linked to the weapon. Low level psionics [Limited telekinetic and telepathy]

Flaws: Usually follows logic,has some problems to understand feelings [Maybe Asperger but more a childhood trauma] and sometimes dont give let everything that he knows on.

Backstory (include any combat experience ant training): From the childhood he was put on a secret project called "Project FAIRVIEW". He was trained in various martial arts,learned various weapons specializations and followed the training program.He was part of the POLTERGEIST,a failed military project that was the susceding of the PHANTOM. Deserting from his official force,he was now enlisting as a mercenary.

The Origin of Jack Shadow is unknown but he has quite the record in many infamous Fighter Squads he joined this band because his last squad got destroyed by a NeoRome Destroyer.

I think that Fenway's idea is a good one. The only flaw being, like Tiel said, is that it might get confusing. But we've done confusing stuff before... right?

Personality: Happy go-lucky, fun-loving, and generally carefree. Absolutely brilliant under pressure, though, and can go from drunk to sober in a half-second if need be.

Perks: Freaking genius with computers, ~meh~ with electronics, and a wicked DropShip pilot.

Flaws: Has a dislike for weaponry, physically pretty weak, and suffers contact telepathy (Don't touch me!).
Copper-based blood (as opposed to the normal iron-based), so medical technology goes ballistic around him. Also tends towards lack of focus when the subject isn't technology or flying.

Backstory (include any combat experience ant training): Growing up on Luna, Markus knows very well how to work in low (and zero) gee and null-atmo environments. As a useful side skill, he picked up computers and electronics, which became the main focus of his education. Due to his unique bloodwork and odd physiology, he's adapted well to the idea of Not Getting Hurt- he can detect danger quite a long way off and can almost dodge bullets. Almost. Keeps his room onboard the ship (or his potion of it, anyway) under zero gee. Another side effect of living on Luna was his skill at flying- DropShips and AeroSpace Fighters present no chellegne for him, and he's cast doubt on the existence of inertia more than once.
