The Strigiforme Empire has begun research into ground-based anti-ship cannons, that will hopefully overcome the flaws of orbital defenses by making strikes against them by ships almost impossible. These sites will likely be heavily guarded.

The Strigiforme Empire is also researching ultra-heavy starbases, capable of going talon-to-talon with super carriers and massive fleets. Each major planet is expected to be outfitted with one of these, along with existing standard starbases and other defences.

Ok, sorted out the Tesseract battle:

Fenway jumped in with a larger fleet, which is more suited to taking down large ships, however, Iv hasn't brought any, meaning that Iv has a slight edge in getting to the Tesseract first, as Fenway isn't specifically prepared for his plan of attack.

Fenway's large ships are too far back to be of any use against fighters, so his dread noughts and battleships are effectively useless here, it would be like trying to shoot a fly with a tank from 2 mile away, the frigates and cruisers will take down some of Iv's fighters, and Fenway's fighters would mainly be distracted by Iv's interceptors.

Iv's numbers would drop faster than Fenway's, due to Fenway's superior firepower, however, it gives Iv enough time to get his teams to the ship, and steal the Tesseract, moments before his defences give in.

Iv just about wins this one, it was anyone's game, however Fenway came in more prepared for a large battlefleet, and was only concerned about the ship carrying the Tesseract, and was trying to crush the enemy, Iv came in to steal the Tesseract and bugger off, meaning all he had to do was keep his forces alive long enough to get on the ship, once they were on, he pretty much had it.

So, the outcome.

Iv suffers 70% loss, but escapes with the Tesseract

Fenway suffers 10% loss, no Tesseract.

I pretty much had to flip a coin as to who would get the Tesseract

Well,i thought of the tesseract as a device that would be capable of basically anything somebody could think to use it for,to a certain degree. I planned on adding a total of 3 artifacts,but cant think of any.

"What? They escaped with the Tesseract?"

"Indeed, Advisor Fenway." The robotic general paced around the room. "They seemed only concerned with taking it rather than surviving. We killed a lot of them, though they escaped."

"And the ship? Are we tracking it?"

"We have sent a few scouts, yes. The world they have it on is extremely well defended. We could take it easily, though with many losses."

"And given our covert nature, we don't want to do that." Fenway opened up a schematic map of the Tesseract. "These are incredibly powerful crystals, forged within black holes. Their power cannot be easily harnessed or contained. Given it's nature, I suppose we wait until they blow themselves up."

"And what if they do harness it? Then they have unlimited energy at their disposal."

"Then we destabilize it." Fenway brought up the schematics of the Impulse Fusion Laser, their main super-weapon. "This will do it."

"If it reveals our position?"

"Then we fight back." Fenway looked at the Tesseract's schematics again. "This Tesseract comes from the Quantum Gate. It is one of three that power it. That's why it is locked into Andromeda. All three are missing."

"And what are the other two?"

"This was the Energy Tesseract. The other two are Matter and Time. Both are equally powerful." He brought up the Quantum Gate's structure. There were three rings around it. Each was meant to contain a Tesseract, though they were missing. The power instead was offered by several N-Scale fusion reactors. "These three combined allowed the gate to instantly connect to any galaxy in the universe and transfer massive fleets between them." He brought up an image of another galaxy. ULAS J1120+0641. A quasar. "This is the forge for these Tesseracts. Very distant and incredibly energetic. It gets farther each day." He closed all the screens.

"Have we got any leads on the remaining two Tesseracts?"

"None so far, but it is paramount we find them. If all three were to be properly assembled and controlled, an empire could build massive ships in no time with no input, engineer planets and stars where there was nothing, contain black holes and launch them toward others. We want to reassemble the Quantum Gate."

"And what happens then?"

"We rebuild the once universe-spanning empire, fractured when our main base in ULAS was destroyed. The civil war. Thousands of small empires, afraid of us, assaulted all of our strongholds at once. ULAS was decimated. All of the Tesseracts were captured and scattered into space."

"So what is the goal? Revenge? Prosperity? Simply being the best?"

"The group that led the rebellion here was the former N.C.S.D. Prime-1 wants to crush them. As for the rest... they leave us alone, and we will leave them alone."

-Middle of nowhere, Cuuyth-

The sand in the desert shook as the pulse from the Tesseract passed. Buried deep under was a small construct, holding the Matter Tesseract, a device once by an ancient civilization to produce riches and resources. Long ago, before when the Strigiforme came through with their Yttrium portals, the device was hidden by the retreating empire. It was buried here under the sands. Now, with one of its brothers calling it, it forced its way out. The sand collapsed around it, startling a few animals. The pit it formed was a few meters wide, and deep enough that it was unveiled. It pulsed, similar to its brother, but less devastatingly. This pulse, rather than disrupt the the energy of certain devices, scrambled the atoms of certain elements. This effectively did nothing besides show its existence and annoy molecular designers. Very soon, the Strigiforme were at the site, digging and collecting data on the Tesseract. They knew the deals they could make with it, but also knew its dangers, so they quietly loaded it onto an Ark-class trans-galactic ship and sent it to the edge of the galaxy, away from prying eyes. It looked as though the ship had left, but it waited. The Strigiforme announced their find, and proclaimed they would make a deal for it. Many offered them worlds and riches, but the Strigiforme only wanted one thing.

The tesseract arrived at the rendezvous point in UTA space. They made it though at great cost. The UTN will soon begin a replenishment program rotating pilots among the fleets and adding new pilots together with graduates of the spector program.

"So what are we doing with that thing ?" asked admiral Redfield . "Clearly it emits waves even now, so we must first enclose it in an isolated metal sphere where it will nullify it's own effect, we will need more research into it and so I suggest the following: A special cruiser was already in production and was soon ready to enter SOF service. The tesseract will be stationed on it inside that metal sphere where it will be researched and experiments will be conducted on it. We know this thing is highly volatile considering what it did to all of our systems so far and so advice caution while conducting experiments on it. I advice conducting them only in hyperspace and upon arrival out of hypersapce shut down the object. If it emits any sort of revealing signal the ship will jump to another location, making it impossible to identify out of all of our cruisers"
