I've actually set up my flagship to be a hard counter to yours, because I find the Scourge would be a pretty big threat to my forces. Thousands of drones doesn't really mean much with a planetbuster aimed at you.
Even if you destroy the hive, you still have a bunch of angry insects flying at you

Except in this case without the hive the insects are harmless
..right? I mean, the whole point of a drone is that the control centers are on the ship and thus the actual strikecraft is easier to mass-produce and span without those systems.

I promise I'm not pulling this out just to win an argument
Cavnin drone technology features the fact that you don't have to be in constant connection with the drones for them to work, the drone itself is built around a computer, then plugged in with the appropriate code for what it is and what it does. So the ship only has to tell the drones what to do if the ship wants to change the mission directive.

So... they're unmanned strikecraft? Because I'm pretty sure that constitutes an unmanned strikecraft.

Drones can operate in a myriad of roles.
While fighters and bombers are limited to such things

Okay, so send in a small strike force to harass the Scourge while gathering telemetry data, which the SABER a distance away will fire its main gun at and with any luck destroy the carrier. The drones will run out of fuel before they can directly assail the SABER, or at the very least the Lithe class corvettes will have ample time to reduce it from 'fuck-you-up' mass.

Do you realize how many drones the Scourage has? Actually, how many Lithes does the Saber have?

It's not full carrier strength, if that's what you're asking. At this point only a few hundred due to supply constraints. But Lithes are pretty good at anti-fighter ops, and with a great distance between the two ships I'm confident that the drones would be reduced to a significantly safer number before they could close the gap.

Heres how I see it, Fighter and intercept drones hold up the Lithes, Assault drones pummel the SABER

When you talk with Cave Ninja about Drones,he will always win.
His special tech is drones [Even on the ship construction page].
So he can pack 80000 of then in a small wodden box.

Lightspeed, get out. If you'd even read the thread you'd know this isn't about drones.

Thank you Lightspeed, but I'm sure he'll find some way to counter that.

Spoiler:
Barracuda Class Assault drone: The Barracuda is a heavy combat drone made mostly to deal damage, it also makes as a great shock and aw weapon. During testing the Barracuda passed with flying colors in all specified criteria. but one major drawback is the missile drones have to return after firing wich means that they are not as common as the beam cannon models. There was a time where when the drones where just programed to suicide after they run out of ammo, but that was quickly redone because it cost to much.
Weapons: One Standard missile or one beam cannon
Warthog Class Assault drone: The Warthog is the latest assault drone to take to the dark skies. It features speed and damage ability over armor. Based off of the A-10 Thunderbolt from ancient Earth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild ... derbolt_II). Its general strengths are its speed and damage ability, weaknesses are its general durability.
Weapons: 4 Standard missiles or rocket pods of 12 rockets

Scourage is a "Hyper Carrier" much larger than a super carrier which only goes to about 2 km long. It does not feature any guns or missiles, just drones, fighters/bombers, and pinnaces.
