Okay made some final changes. and my population i accidentally wrote million instead of thousands, that's why it was so ridiculously high. everything should be good. I even got my math to work for this RP. then i lowered the population a bit more due to the fact that the planet is pretty toxic after all. Do i have a green light on my group?

Also Taln. Our homeworld name is basically the same (i just spelled mine wrong). So this means we have no choice but to become friends (could make for some interesting Rp). we both have mechanized infantry, similar hw names, similar governments. I just wish i had given myself plutonium.

Now everyone is making their population stupidly small.

OOC: Vinyl, Richard, Tiel accepted. Seems perfectly fine and stuff.

BIC:
A multi-colored mass of people congregated in the town square as the latest advancement was finally unveiled. The capital of NeoRome was nearly packed, with the railways backed up three kilometers as more traffic filed in. It even warranted use of the second deck rails, reserved for government use, because so many people were coming to the small city. Those who couldn't tuned to the radio.

As the crowd settled, peddlers selling everything; photographic cameras, handheld radios, candy, gyroscopes. The crowd mulled over, excitedly talking over what was discovered and built into the newest advancement.

"They say they found it in the ancient Starfall Crater!"

"Rumors have it that it will turn science on it's end!"

"It's so massive! What is it?"

"My son is working on this, and he said it's the beginning of the new age!"

A massive cheer goes up as the leader, Hierarch Fenway, arrives in his private train and steps out of the vehicle. He is accompanied by three burly security guards, all carrying rifles, in the event of danger to the Hierarch. Fenway makes his way to the podium, amid swarms of reporters trying to get in early questions. He waves them aside and mounts the podium. The crowd quickly falls silent.

A secretary hands him a few papers, and the recording crew sets up their sound-capturing mechanism. Once this finishes, Fenway begins.

"My fellow citizens, today is an extremely important day for us." He says. The equipment captures his voice and artificially amplifies it through the square.

He continues, "Several months ago, reports by several archeologists discovered a most peculiar artifact in the Starfall Crater, in the Eastern Territory. I would like to give my thanks to Dr. Newell, and Dr. Brack, for this incredible discovery." Two men stood up near him, and were met with applause from the crowd. They bowed and sat down again, and the crowd quieted.

"Through these two men, we were able to isolate and transport the artifact to our top research facility. After a few days, we had a breakthrough. May I present Professor Grimwell, head of the Science Department." Fenway stepped aside as Professor Grimwell, a greying man in a lab coat, stepped up.

"The artifact in question is at least 200 years old, and was found in the wreckage of several advanced alloys. Through experimentation, we had discovered the object's purpose." He paused and cleared his throat. "By running sufficient power through it, the artifact generates an extremely powerful Space-Time field, and objects inside this field are capable of moving faster, than the speed of light." Excited whisperings and gasps run through the crowd. Grimwell ignored this. "We have managed to replicate this technology. This opens a new era for us, a new decade of exploration!" He beamed at the crowd as applause started again, and Fenway took the podium.

"Using this artifact, we have managed to construct three sister ships, the Horizon, the Frontier, and the Explorer. Behind me, is the Explorer. It is equipped with our most advanced technologies we possess. With this in our hands, we will finally be able to go further beyond what was though possible!" As he finished, the massive curtain covering the ship fell to the ground. The four side-engines on the grey, cylindrical body rotated and fired. With a roar, the massive ship lurched off the ground.

"These three ships will be the pinnacle of our new space program, which will push us to unimaginable heights!" The crowds massive cheers nearly drowned out the sound of the engines, and the massive ship began rising again. It seemed so pristine, peaceful, like a bird taking flight into a new dawn.

At a height of four kilometers, the ship exploded.

"So doctor... It's some kind of, super tank?" General Thadius was curious as to what Doctor Halliday was saying half of their funds were going to.
"It'll be the most advanced military asset we'll ever have! Just think of what they could do to help fight the Rebels!" Doctor Halliday was trying to explain to the man who was not understanding any of this what his "powered armor" would do, exactly what it could mean for their purposes.
"Doctor, could you explain this in a way I might possibly understand?"
"In short, it is a tank you can wear." Dr. Halliday spoke with a thick northern accent.
"A tank you can wear? Well, how about that."
"If we could just get more funds, who knows how many we could make for your men!"
"I'll get you your funds if we can keep these from the public."
"General, I'm not following."
"If we tell the public about this, we don't know how they'll react and if the public hears, the Rebels can hear. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes. Very."
"Well what're you standing here for? Get back to work!"
"Yes, General."

The escape pods touched down on the planets surface, however one pod had collided with debris in the exosphere of the planet, damaging the retro boosters, and rendering the pod unable to slow itself down. It collided with a massive impact, it's inhabitants of 120 Engineer type VI biomechs were obliterated upon impact.

The biomech known to the crew as the Station Warrant Officer H7, or SWO H7, or to those who the SWO trusted and knew, just H7, gazed at the fireball where the pod had crashed.

"Brace" he barked, about five seconds before the shock was of the blast hit, which knocked over some of the civilian rigs.

LT AH-4 had been scanning the surrounding area, the planet had never been probed by NSCD equipment, it was completely unknown to them.

"Sir, this isn't a registered planet, we can't broadcast our location" AH-4 told the SWO

"The black box should have broadcasted the location of the vessel, they can find us from there"

"but sir, captain Zeta told us the black box would only operate if he proved it"

"I primed it"

"Sir you are not the captain you can't prime it"

"I can if the captain dies"

H7 orders troops to inspect the crash site, to check for any remains that may be useful, the biomechs inside were vital crew member, but there was no way they could have survived that, the SWO doubted even one of the mighty Lamentors could have survived such an impact.

High Master Nelson stood before an ancient Star Chart on the bridge of their newest vessel. The windows were covered in ash blocking any view of what was outside.
"As you are all aware we found a vessel encased under the Red sea. The damage was so severe that we were only able to recover two things from this ship. The first being what we later discovered to be the Launch Core, and a map that was discovered in the remains of the captains physical log. This map was not only additional proof that there were other civilizations before us, but that we know were some of those worlds are. This gave our people a mission. This sole mission is what united our planet, even if we had to help others see things our way."

Adviser "we are all aware of the significance of the discovery. What aren't you telling us?"

Nelson turned around with a smile "As of this morning i received word that the Launch Panels have been completed. The Holding platforms for them were completed months ago as well."

His advisers began to talk excitedly between themselves. "So the ship is ready? it can function? When can it leave?"

Nelson "Soon very soon. We are equipping it now with countermeasures for what ever we might encounter. It is being loaded with anti-Asteroid torpedoes, as well as a single mounted turret that fire exploding rounds. It has a small squadron of corvettes that are designed to fix and seal any breaches of its hull from micro meteorites or from larger objects. They also can carry one torpedo each and manually deploy it on the surface of an asteroid to help redirect it if need be."

Adviser "what if we discover new civilizations and they are... hostile."

Nelson "That thought had crossed my mind, but the log stated that all civilization had been destroyed. They were fleeing their Homeworld which we believe to be called Hagara. If a threat arises they can construct and equip guns onto this ship easily enough. I don't see the need to do so yet. If by some miracle their is life out there I don't want to fly a military ship up to them." Nelson walks over to the control panel and pulls a lever. The ash is blown off the Window by a fan to reveal the Launch Panels being installed into the front of the ship by mechanized workers (a small hydraulic powered lifting suit). Ash continued to pour from the sky making visibility difficult. The only light coming from the lava lake the ship yard was built next to. "it is almost time."

Faction Name: Strigiforme Union
Gov't Type: Socialist republic
Current Leader: Argriiv
Population: 6 million
Corruption level: (1-10): 2

Military size (personnel): 2 million
Military capability (overall, 1-10): 4
Spacecraft: 1 command ship, 2 frigates, 1 destroyer(heavy frigate)
Ground Forces: 300 tanks, 4 armies of 10,000 soldiers

Planet name: Crytii
Planet type: Terran, heavy volcanism and high winds
Habitability: (1-10) 6
Major Resources: Large iron, titanium, and other heavy metal deposits
Major Features: Large volcanic mountain ranges make landings difficult

Commander Rykthy was excited. Recently, a cache of ancient relics had been found, likely from the era of the Crash. Long ago, the colony ship Crytii crashed on the world, loosing its cargo of Variin breed owls on the world. They were shorter lived than their brethren, living only 120 years on average. Even though most of the surviving original colonists still lived, their off spring far outnumbered them, turning the pre-Crash relics into near holy artifacts. In the recent cache, they found 4 Yttrium torpedoes, a valuable find, and a.... Something. The Something was big, and had a large Yttrium intake. As far as they could tell, it was some sort of space travel device, possibly FTL. They were already making preparations to build a new colony ships out of the aging hull of the oldest of their frigates, the Gythai. The ship was to go to the nearest star, which had been transmitting radio waves in an odd dialect of Owlish, possibly from the small fleet of various ships sent to colonize the region. Rykthy was to command the ships accompanying the colony ship, a massive fleet of 2 corvettes and 2 frigates, as well as the destroyer. The fleet was slowly being refit with reverse engineered tech from the original device.

OOC: ACHO tone down Pop. and military a tad, and you're good.

BIC:
The next day.

Hierarch Fenway sighed and sat down at his desk. The engineers made a mistake, and it cost him months of work. He'll have the engineers who made the Explorer fired, and their licenses revoked. Executed, if possible. But he has other matters to attend to.

A small tone sounded, and the chute beside him began to hum. Before long, a scroll of paper wrapped using string appeared in the exit chute, and the mechanism clicked off. Fenway reached for it and unfurled three seperate sheets of paper. He spread them out on his desk and studied them.

The first showed the diagnosis of the Explorer's explosion. It originated in the fuel tanks, where a small leakage managed to ignite and detonate. The first tank was heavily damaged, but the second wasn't. A fire had also raged in the engine bay, due to this leakage. The fire-suppression system didn't respond. When the fire reached the first fuel tank again, the entire thing exploded. Had the proper construction been taken, the ship would have been able to land safely. However, several key walls between the two fuel tanks were missing, and many bulkheads were not reinforced. As a result, the superstructure failed and the ship began to collapse. This punctured the second fuel tank, which detonated as well. This caused the ship to crash.

The second showed a cartograph of the ship's crash site, as drawn by aerial observation. The wreckage from the explorer was scattered in a 1 mile radius of land 6 miles north of NeoRome. Several key points of the ship were intact, and were outlined on the map. Other structures were also identified. Fenway noticed that the reactor chamber, the cockpit, and the main engine block were intact. He also saw a smaller mark, the FTL drive. It had a question mark next to it. If it was intact, it would save millions in construction.

The last paper was the shortest. It contained a quick memo from his Military Advisor, stationed in the town Lamerk. All it said was this;

Frontier/Horizon launch successful. Awaiting orders.

Relieved at this turn of events, Fenway switched the Radio and tuned to the government channel. After he was identified, the encryption software locked, and he was given feed to the Horizon.

The first test of the Mark I Power Armor was going well, Sgt. Maj. Jerif was the best pilot for the Mark I, so he was picked to pilot the device for testing. They were, however, running into a problem. The pilot had to have received extensive biological re-engineering in order to not be ripped apart, as well as be in peak physical shape to move the heavy parts of the machine. The armor was also having many problems with the power supply, the thing wouldn't hold a charge and having the ponderous charging cable connected at all times wouldn't be effective in a combat situation, and they didn't have any means to create a portable nuclear generator that could be mountable on the Mark I would be absurd. With no obvious solution to the situation, the engineers are stuck and don't know what to do about this. They are even considering abandoning the Mark I for military use and re-purpose it for construction.
