After hundreds of years of experimentation, Humanity finally reached the stars. They were united under a single authority, the Terran Hierarchy. The calender began again, at 0, the new Universal calender. With their advanced Hyperdrive engines, they sent scouting parties to several systems. They found out they were not alone. There were several other races, all under several names and banners. There was the Nationalized Owl Empire, an advanced race of owl creatures. There was the Centralized Robotic Union, a sentient, autonomous robotic race. And many others. under separate banners. Humanity was at first spiteful, and refused to cooperate with them. They expanded dramatically and ignored them, owning nearly 70% of colonized space within a few decades. This expansion had horrible effects, and order within the Hierarchy began to break down. Sensing opportunity, the Robotics and Owls made a proposal to the Hierarchy. They would help, but the humans had to give something back in return. They accepted, and this condition was known; equality. As the government rearranged itself, each empire seated their authority and transmitted it to the high council. Now, they were all under a single banner. The Commonwealth was born.

For several centuries, the Commonwealth enjoyed peace and prosperity. Advancements were made, legacies built, planets Terra-formed. Commercial freedom was unlimited, and everyone lived in harmony. New races were admitted as time went on, and everything seemed fine. But like all things, it must end.

A new invention was created. This allowed people to upload their conscious to machine beings, making them essentially immortal. Many rich and powerful people did it, in order to run their companies forever. However, it was expensive for no apparent reason. The process was incredibly cheap, but the inventors, due to the market's system, charged outragous premiums for it. This caused great discontent among the population, especially humans, for they have much shorter lifespans than any other species. After a few years of this, a revolt began. Humans across the sectors took up arms and overthrew the local government, other species' followed their example soon after. The Commonwealth, blind in its ability due to the limited number of conflicts involving this, authorized full destruction of the revolting worlds to preserve the Commonwealth's unity. But this served only to widen it.

Outraged at the Commonwealth's destruction, hundreds of systems rebelled entirely and began attacking. Not knowing who was friend or foe due to severed communication lines, every system was essentially for itself. The Commonwealth retreated to a ring of highly fortified worlds. For a hundred years, every system dueled, battled each other for dominance. The Commonwealth watched, knowing they could not break their barrier, and waited. The Pan-Galactic war.

Soon enough, one faction emerged on top. Their opponents, crippled and unable to mount a resistance, surrendered unconditionally. It's strength matched the remaining Commonwealth. They attacked. The Commonwealth was at first overwhelmed, but then began to push them back. Desperate, the last faction ordered the unthinkable- Total Protonic Destruction. Siezing a Commonwealth weapon facility, they began destroying all of their systems. In equal retaliation, the Commonwealth used their own weapons against the faction. Within weeks, almost nothing remained.

The uploading technology had been lost in the conflict. Picking up on the remains and what technology they had left, the survivors banded together and rebuilt. Small conflicts arose, but limited military power prevented escalation. This went on for a hundred years.

And now we are at present day. From the ashes rose countless factions, all different, all vying for dominance. The year is 880 A.H.D (After HyperDrive)

NeoRome. Owned by Professor Fenway

Arising from one of the meager conflicts, the mighty NeoRomans are one of the most powerful, relying on their capital planet, NeoRome, and the massive energy supply it contains. They are scientific, curious. With their large fleets and advanced technology, one would be foolish to pick a fight with them. Though not generally warlike, they can and will attack and defend themselves.

Made up of a mixture of humans and aliens, the members of the EE are the descendants of a group that once made a pitiful attack against the Owl Empire and the Robotic Union. The survivors of the battle settled on Mobius.
Having lost the FTL-technology, they began researching their own, and eventually succeeded. The result, however, was not very effective, but enough to get them in touch with other FTL-using factions. The combination of their technologies resulted in the "Warp Ring Drive" of today. While this technology brings one to any point almost instantly, the charging time required is enough to make it overal as fast as any other FTL-drive in the galaxy.
Now, the EE is supplemented by metals mined from non-habitable planets and asteroids to support its robot army. (and the fleet, for that matter)

Primeran Exodites. Owned by Avenger_7

Short History/Description: The Exodites are a group of abhumans who were among the first to leave ancient Terra, before the advent of hyperdrives. A group of scientists and a few corporations escaped to the stars on a small fleet of prototype colony ships. Traveling for nearly a century at 0.9c before finding a suitable planet, they eventually stumbled upon a system with a tier 1 habitable world with a tier 3 habitable moon. The Exodites were discovered by the emergent Commonwealth centuries later, after geneticists had adapted them to their new environment. When the Commonwealth fell, they chose to simply defend their small cluster of systems rather than take sides in the galactic conflict. The Exodites have no desire for territorial gains, but provoking them would be foolish due to their advanced technology.

Taln Sovereignty. Owned by Tiel.

The Taln are the far-flung descendants of a decaying empire within another galaxy. When their society split in half, members of what is now known as the Taln chose to leave their nation entirely rather than pick sides in what was destined to be a bloody conflict. They maintain sovereignty over a small sector of space, and adopt a policy of isolationism regarding most conflicts, although their government has no qualms about supplying feuding factions with war materials.

Unionized Terran Authority. Owned by Iv121

The Pan-Galactic war took a heavy toll on many systems in the galaxy. Delta Serpentis wasn't an exception. The population who once believed in peaceful co-existence were disappointed in the way they took. The population became harsh as the conditions in the system and desperate. They needed a powerful leadership and one man rose to give them hope - Ian Velenberg. He managed to collect the men of Serpentis Prime around him with his inborn gift of speech and his vision of Utopian society. He wasn't only a good speaker but also a good leader. Under his rule the system was quickly rebuilt. Ian established a complicated regime where the people elected 121 councilors who in turn gave power to the government lead by the president. the president had great power in his hands and remained in control until dismissed by the council .

Ian created a powerful and terrifically addictive worldview that quite appealed to the residents of Delta Serpentis - In this hostile universe the union needs to face many threats and needs great power to resist them. The power of the union comes from the people - they entrust the council with the power and their loyalty is what keeps the union intact. As long as they are loyal to the union the union has power to protect and help the people. The council promised equality and rights to it's citizens. The union attracting not only with the ideology offering rights and security in this troubled time but also with it's well oiled economy. Ian created a powerful propaganda machine and educated the population n his new way. Because of the success of his regime and the ideology the people were ready to obey Ian. They became highly disciplined and ready to serve their homeland, to protect their families and land. Under this definition was not only the service in the army but also in many aspects of their life.

From a ruined wasteland Serpentis Prime was rebuilt within two decades with people ready to work almost for free for the great cause. Ian made sure they got food and slowly from the infrastructure built by the people the economy was ready to boom again. As the propaganda said "By the people - for the people !" The success of Delta Serpentis attracted neighboring systems who were ready to join the great cause - to rebuild and protect their systems as one well fueled machine. The army, the workers and the rulers became one under Ian's rule and this unity and discipline is the key for the Terran Union's success.

As the achievements of the union grow more and more people join the cause. Although the Union is yet small it is ready to grow and spread it's ideology in terrifying speed.

Union of Strigiforme Worlds. Owned by ACHO225

The USW, one of many owl empires caused by the loss of the inter-dimensional Yttrium portal system, is a middling sized economic and military powerhouse. Its main shipyard can pump out a frigate a month, and it has trade relations with most other empires. However, their political system-based entirely on that of the original Strigiforme nation-is defunct and filled with war mongering commanders and greedy merchants. They are also backwards in most technologies other empires take for granted; they have no AIs or advanced VIs, they use outdated targeting computers for most ballistics and plasma turrets, and their food synthesizers can only replicate water and a very basic compound with amino acids and carbohydrates. What they do have, though, is a knowledge of the dimensional folds millennia beyond they rest of the galaxy, and great knowledge of directed energies such as shields and some lasers. They were founded on a world very close, dimensionally speaking, to their home dimension. Thusly, the world and it's immediate planetary bodies were built up. When they Yttrium portal system collapsed, they had the infrastructure to survive in the hostile galaxy. They completely subdued a large area, a nebular cluster 26 parsecs across, and when the Commonwealth was formed, they made up a solid backbone of the economic and military forces. When the Commonwealth split, they quickly ditched and minimized damage, and their territory was mostly unaffected due to the distance and their solid militarized government, and they sat quietly in the dark, making profits at a rapid pace as the systems fought.

They tear atom-sized holes in the dimensional skin, taking atoms through and into other dimensions.

Eyronian Contingent. Owned by Tunnelthunder

Short History/Description
The Eyronian Contingent came to be after the fail-safe protocols, known as the Eyronian Contingent, were initiated by the IFE and a colony of highly specialized units was to be set up in a desolate sector of quadrant 4 in order to ensure the survival of their people. However, due to an attack while launching the flight path and major systems of the ship failed and caused the crash landing of the ship on the target world, but it caused the death of most of the science crew. The survivors named the system they crashed in Eryo major after their former home world and have set up colonies across the system with its four garden world, but they limit them selves to Eyro Major and minor leaving them closed to a large portion of the galaxy. The Contingent is one of the oldest factions though they lack technical expertise they are well versed in military tactics, and Economic practices.

Novum Paradigma. Owned by Aradia (Formerly Vinyl)

Late in the Pan-Galactic war, groups from most of the factions left because they either disagreed with the faction's methods or disliked the war and hid away just beyond the galaxy. Early on fighting within the group broke out. Countless died during what would later be called the "Extra-Galactic Civil War", most large warships and science vessels were destroyed to prevent the other from gaining an advantage. This would later prove harmful when they returned to find that their lacking science and military made them susceptible to devastating attacks by even the smaller opposing factions. The group instead turned their inferior tech to their advantage. In the stead of barely functioning shields and plasma weapons, they beefed up their armor and used kinetic weaponry, even going so far as to construct rams on the fronts of ships to slice through unshielded enemy ships. These decisions later helped push their scientist's focuses from weapons and shields to methods of FTL travel, leading to the creation of Slipspace drives.

Advanced Kinetic Weapons - Heavy research into this has lead to kinetic weapons superior to most others.

Technocratic Socialist Republic of Feles Mundum. Owned by Catsonmeth.

Man species: Feles (67%), Human (32%), Gerengi (<.5%), Other (<.5%)

History: The Feles entered the galactic community less than a century after Humanity, though they had invented the Hyperslip-drive long before. The dark shroud of the Bata Viel had prevented discovery of Mundum and the Feles. When they finally made their way out of the Viel, they had already colonized a significant area and could be considered a minor faction. The Feles were welcomed into the galaxy, the majority of which was more concerned with the growing power of the Terrans. They joined in a reluctant alliance with the Commonwealth until the beginning of the Pangalactic War, during which they receded back into the Viel, along with a large amount of Human pacifists. For a century of chaos and the following years of war, the TSRFM spread throughout much of the Bata viel, making technological advancements and fortifying its few remaining outer colonies. The faction remains reluctant to venture out of it's sanctuary.

It can also be used offensively, a well-placed microportal can tear a small craft apart in the bubbling oblivion of a hyperspace eddy.

Gerengi Remnants. Owned by Catsonmeth.

Short History/Description: The Gerengi have been wandering the galaxy for slightly less than two centuries. They were once quite a powerful interstellar nation, but the population was decimated during the Pangalactic War, despite their claim of neutrality. The war forced them back to their homeworld, Yhul, and served a distraction from the looming threat of Hareng, the system's dying sun. Shortly after the war, Hareng's emissions and size began to threaten the biosphere and livability of Yhul. The Gerengi were forced into a mass evacuation, taking cataloged life of their now-scorched home and loading what was left of the fleet. The highest priority of the Gerengi is preservation and eventual recreation of the extinct life of Yhul.

The Cavnin Nation. Owned by Catsvsninjas.

Short History/Description: No one really know for sure how the nation actually came to be, but there is a story to it. It is said that the nation was formed when a group of human rebels left the Terran Hierarchy when they started taking over much of known space. The rebels stole many a military hardware, the rebels ran for the nearest know habitable system, Kepler-22, The rebels were forced to fight back on there own turf, so scientist tried to genetically engineer the agility of the domestic house cat, with the intelligence of a human. The result brought rise to two new species, Catians (Cash-E-ans) and Ninjins (Nin-jins). (The details on how Tarran humans reacted are not known through the story. It is also not known what became of them.) Although it has been proven that one species is smarter than the other, this has been marked as the highest priority secret, and only a handful of people know. The Nation's Military and Tech are extremely advanced and is taken very seriously by it's people after decades of war. While there economy is not very strong, the social aspect is very high. The population of the Cavnin Nation is not as big as other races and empires because they only live in one system.

How will you rise to dominance?

RULES:

No GodModding (Except me). It isn't fair to control another empire's actions. I will do so, on occasion, to do some tasks which may need coherence or for plot devices.

No OPness. Each empire has a strength index, outlying their bounds of capable feats. Stick within these bounds. For example, an empire with 4 economy should need a few years to afford a dreadnought.

No Omnipotence- You shouldn't know anything, empire wise, that is not public knowledge or otherwise known to you. So no acting on private messages, unless reasonably intercepted, or on other kinds of information.

Battles and similar things will be decided by the GM (Me) or the impartial judge Last Jedi Standing.

(I will think of more as these situations come up.)

Explanation of stats:

Technology: The advancement of your technology; further research gets speeded up by economy and social; if you have high military, you get an extra buff for military research

Military: the density of your forces and the faction of your money that goes to the military; technology allows you to use more advanced stuff in your ships; economy increases the rate at which your military can grow and the maximum size you can maintain at all; High size also increases total military power.

Economy: A high economy allows for more actions in general, and in combination with other high stats especially; general boost if social is also high

Social: The amount of population in your country and the effectivity of their work (due to species or other). High economy gives a buff for stability.

Size: Your area of influence. High area means you can spot incoming enemies earlier, have more space to evacuate your people to. While this value is buffs Military, military counter-buffs this value.

Side note: if you are a bit skeptical of the economic situation, we may not require currency, but this makes relations with other empires rather difficult, as we have little means of trade. Another point that may be a wee bit OP is ARK-1, which is an entirely artificial planet, be we are kind of bound to it, if it is destroyed, everything shuts down, though it does provide a lot of materials for building, hence why the economy number is high. I can easily make changes though, though ARK-1 will remain an artificial mechanical planet, it can be nerfed further

Nice to see you're starting up the RP again.

Empire: Primeran Exodites

Quadrant: 2nd

Capital: Exodus Prime, Exodus system

Special Tech: Trisynchronous Field Manipulation - Manipulation of energy fields (electric, gravitational, boson, etc.) allows for integration of complex technologies such that redundancy produces an exponentially multiplicative effect. This affects shields, reactors, fleet scale FTL, and energy weapons.

I removed your 'not allowed' roster. Let's move on and forget about petty affairs such as that, yes?

Taln Sovereignty

The Taln are the far-flung descendants of a decaying empire within another galaxy. When their society split in half, members of what is now known as the Taln chose to leave their nation entirely rather than pick sides in what was destined to be a bloody conflict. They maintain sovereignty over a small sector of space, and adopt a policy of isolationism regarding most conflicts, although their government has no qualms about supplying feuding factions with war materials.

Terran Union

[Yea I couldn't come with a better name  , the terran unions in this game ad in my universe are different in history and source of authority]

Ian established a complicated regime where the people elected 121 councillors who in turn gave power to the government lead by the president. the president had great power in his hands and remained in control until dismissed by the council .

As the propaganda said "By the people - for the people !" The success of Delta Serpentis attracted neighbouring systems who were ready to join the great cause - to rebuild and protect their systems as one well fuelled machine. The army, the workers and the rulers became one under Ian's rule and this unity and discipline is the key for the Terran Union's success.

As the achievements of the union grow more and more people join the cause. Although the Union is yet small it is ready to grow and spread it's ideology in terrifying speed.

Strength Index - 35
Technology - 5
Military - 8

Social - 10

Technology: While the people of the Union are very dedicated they lack scientists and technology.
Military: A well oiled war machine. The power of the UTN comes from the courage and dedication of the soldiers. While the fleet is held back a bit by the limited technology it more than makes it up by the people. The UTN marines are a terrifying force to fight against.
Economy: As well oiled as the military. The prospering economy is the result of the dedication of the people who are ready to work hard with little reward when needed.
Social: The dedication and education of values created a powerful society which is ready to back their leaders.
Size: Currently includes a limited amount of systems but the Union has already set up it's eyes on other systems.

Leader: Ian Velenberg.

Government: A combination of dictatorship and democracy. The people are able to politically overthrow the ruler but the ruler has high powers in his hands.

Quadrant: 2nd

Capital: Serpentis Prime , Delta Serpentis.

Special tech: Power of the people - The perfected methods of propaganda and the addictive ideology which allow not only to effect other systems from inside but also encourage the people of the Union to do the impossible and push the human abilities to the limit.

Ivan, Prototype, Avenger, Tiel accepted, Iv accepted.

Prototype, your ARK-1 is fine, as it ties in with your strength index. Just as long as it can't jump places super fast. And for difference's sake, your reactors are small, efficient, but very expensive, while mine are large, incredibly efficient, and cheap.

Tunnel, your special 'tech' isn't really a tech. Maybe something like Quantum Scale Computers, allowing for such an A.I?

Iv, I modified your tech and some stuff. Otherwise, effects are same, just different namesake. Also made a better name.

Empire: Union of Strigiforme Worlds

Novum Paradigma

Strength Index - 16

Military- 7
Economy- 4

Size- 2

Leader: Lord of Admirals, Jeik Wiss

Government: Military Democracy

Quadrant 3

Capital: Kethané, Usuarf System

Special Tech: Slipspace travel - Far less accurate than most conventional FTL drives, as well this method takes up much more energy because it tears a hole in normal-space to allow the ship to enter the 11D slipspace. Advanced Kinetic Weapons - Heavy research into this has lead to kinetic weapons superior to most others.

EDIT: Changed size to new scale.

ACHO Accepted. I am allowing your transgression because the Strigiforme are pretty cool.

Aradia accepted, your techs make up for the lower points. We need weaker empires because they're fun.

I reviewed your updates Tunnel, and find them acceptable.

And size doesn't necessarily affect economy. Economy is based on money and such, which can be based on imports and exports. A single system can be very strong, if they have good goods production. They may sell all kinds of goods for immense profits due to resources. So, size does matter, but not for everything.

Then why not make economy a per-system average, and have it directly proportional to total economy with size?

I'm just going to say that basing most of history on a war caused by the nonavailability of a technology that would probably be significantly less difficult to make than an interdimensional hyperspace drive is a little fanciful, oversimplistic, and reminiscent of H4.

Name: Technocratic Socialist Republic of Feles Mundum

Strength Index:33
Technology- 8
Military- 7
Economy- 6 (internally very stable, moderate external influence)
Social- 5
--Population- 4 (28 billion citizens)
--Social Stability-6

Size- 7 (large territory, but spread throughout the Bata Viel, 75 planets with major port cities in 49 systems)

Leader: Councils of Government

Government: Technocratic Socialist Republic

Quadrant: 4th quadrant

Capital: Mundum

Special Tech: Slip Merging: Technology capable of merging hyperspace, subspace, and realspace with higher efficiency and control than most developed by other factions. This tech. makes it possible to jump in and out of hyperspace with very little detectable radiation. It can also be used offensively, a well-placed microportal can tear a small craft apart in the bubbling oblivion of a hyperspace eddy.
