Brooding on the presence in her head, Vena decides to let the engineers take care of the fusion-powered shitstorm and waits in the hallway with her lucky rock in hand.

Karl backs out into the corridor and turns to keep an eye on it, keeping one ear out for the inevitable explosion.

Vinebane's collar turns green. "All remaining defense systems just failed." His breathing is much quicker than usual, and you can hear footsteps through the channel. "I've got to get-" the collar lets out this extremely high pitched noise and then is consumed by static. It shuts off, and the collar turns red.

Inside the reactor there is no explosion, but the upper beam fails to turn back on. In the hallway, what meager lights there were suddenly shut off completely, leaving the entire hallway in darkness. Your suit-mounted headlights do little to hold back the oppressive darkness. The panel to the reactor door flickers out, and the door remains stuck half open. The entire station is losing all power. \

What horrors await in the dark?

Flippingon the light under his rifle, Karl pans it around.

'All units, Valkyrius. Check in.'

Vena feels courteous and her wetware's cold presence is more active than usual, so she sends a ping over the com system. The biting familiarity of the dark hallway is also beginning to bother her. Or maybe it's the other thing gnawing at the inaccessible corners of her mind, also faintly familiar, just out of reach.

Reluctant to activate her floodlights, she sends out a short kinetic pulse to sense her surroundings, along with a message to Kea I need to go farther.. She closes her eyes and feels for any alien consciousnesses.
