Call of Warhammer Tech & Magick (or Cthulhu and the Boys)

Post by Error » Sat Nov 22, 2014 9:16 pm

You know what the problem with FPRPs is?

They tend to die.

That's what they exist for, I know, but wouldn't it be nice to have one that people actually like and play?

Probably.

So, I came up with this:

Warhammer 40k + Call of Cthulhu + Neon Genesis Evangelion + Tenga Toppen Gurren Lagann + Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow + Traveller + Firefly + Alien + TV Tropes =

Cthulhu and the Boys take a Trip to Holy Terra.

So! It's time to go off the rails, to undo the rules, to aim to misbehave, to shoot people inna face, to warp reality, to... you get it.

THE SETTING:

Earth/Terra/Gaia is at war. With itself, mainly but also with alien invaders known as the Lizards (their actual name has more ø's and ă's than is pronouncable).

It is also trying (mostly failing) to prevent the return of the Old Ones.

And for bonus points, wars are now fought with Humoungous Mecha and Psychic Powers.

Good luck. Have fun. Probably die.

THE CHARACTERS:

Name:
Age:
Species: (Human, Lizard, FC Species or original)
Psychic?:
Psychic Powers: (No more than 5 major)
Occupation:
Why are you on Earth:

E.g. myself;

Markus
27
Novan
Psychic - Telekinetic, Pyrokinetic, Gravity Manipulator, Reality Shield*, Medium Awareness, and the ability to change his eye colour.
Occupied in the business of Causing Mass Mayhem
On Terra to Fuck Shit Up, and have a good time (not a long time).

(*Immune to reality-warping effects)

Be aware you can't destroy Earth outright (too many other psychics) and totally wrecking the setting means that the Plot Gods break the fourth wall, fix it, remove your ability to do that, and resume the plot.

GLHF.

This doesn't seem any different than any other indiv. RP... Just a clusterfuck of franchises.

FPRPs are always doomed on this forum, no exceptions ever.

I thought I'd just go wacky-fun instead of SuprSrsBsnssGuise.

I only know what half of those things are but from the ones I do know, this sounds like it's going to be of much funnings.

Name: Linnaeus Scratchov
Age: 13
Species: Hexalani
Psychic?: YES
Psychic Powers: Pyrokinesis, Combining*, Time/Space Teleportation, Energetic Projection**, Gravitonic Throttling***
Occupation: Hexalani A11 (Those are the ultra-badasses that weren't possible until 3299. However, when they were made is irrelevant as they can move through time)
Why are you on Earth: Usurp the Emperor of Mankind

*Read: Biological Lagann
**Shields

I'm really disappointed at the lack of participation.

I'll participate once I've decided which of several awesome types of characters to choose.
Y'know how hard it is to choose between spess mahreen(ish thing), space cowboy and mech pilot?

The Lizard soldier only had a very brief moment to be surprised before he encountered the ground at some speed. His compatriot, following him down, barely got a glance at their opponent before he, too, succumbed to the abrupt change in velocity resulting from the impact.

Markus dropped the the ground behind the corpses, rather more gently. Sighing, rummaging, and the acquisition of basic loot followed.

Mark stood and glanced at the players-to-be (?). "Well come on, then. FPRPs are terrible, yeah, but at least give it a go?"

Name: Darryl Stone
Age: 30
Species: Human
Psychic Powers: Medium Awareness, heightened aiming skillz, improved reflexes/reaction time, sanity shield.
Occupation: Space Cowboy with the Additional Dakka(tm) DLC
Why are you on Earth: I aim to misbehave. And kick some xeno ass. Not necessarily in that order, partially because one can be used to describe the other.

Darryl, being a pre-approved character, pulled what looked like an SMG from his hip. The Simushi XK-442 Turboplas Autocaster expanded to its full size, making several delightful mechanical noises doing so. He turned to Mark, cracking his neck.

"Well then, what are we waiting for?"

'The other players.' muttered Mark, netting her some odd looks from passerby.

'Sod it. Let's go find someone to mess with.'

(OOC, both Mark and Darryl have Medium Awareness - they know they're fictional, and can / will turn around and shatter the fourth wall sometimes.)

A massive flash of light shone from several blocks away, drawing both Mark and Darryl's attention. The immaculate glow quickly subsided as it was replaced by massive fireballs. As the blasts continued, one could possibly make out shouting and screams. It would've been a blood bath if the blood hadn't evaporated.

"Seems like we got something," Darryl said. "Last man there buys us all drinks later."
And with that, he activated his jetpack and headed for the blast.

'I see someone is taking after Mister Gat. Shall we join in the fun?'

Not waiting for an answer, Mark dashed forward, applying gravity boosts to send flahsburn grenades flying everywhere; subsequently joined by the tap-tap-tap of her twin plasma casters.

Long, detailed, and very violent insults hurtled from the large, odd mech as it flew about on its boosters, hurtling missiles at regular intervals. The nearby area was already all but incinerated, a blaze already propagating from the site. Able to hear the words now, it was immediately clear they were not in English, or anything that seemed to resemble it, though a few proper nouns could be made out, mainly those regarding the Imperium, and one word came up very often, "Ukownoe".

(Er, the Imperium doesn't exist here; that wasn't literal. But there is a Terran Emperor.)
