It'd be even more reasonable to have more than 12 ships.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
And precisely where do I get the personnel for that? With my grand total of 275,672 populace on three worlds?
Unlike Zergalan, I can't pull more soldiers out of my arse as is required. Sorry.

Novus is literally smaller that Wyoming.
How are you even a nation.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
Because Novus is on the galactic rim, has no exceptionally special materials, is off the beaten track, and is really pretty insignificant. Less'n you want genetic tailoring or engineering miracles done, anyway.

- How do you have enough PEOPLE to man your ships
- How do you have enough people to BUILD your ships
- How do you have enough people to have more than HALF a CITY
- HOW IS NOVUS A NATION, LET ALONE BUILDING 4 1.7KM SHIPS AND MANNING THEM???
And HWO DID YOU GET TO THE GALACTIC RIM IN LESS THAN A CENTURY???

Re: Once More, With Feeling
-Government has a lot of economic pull when it needs it.
-Shitpiles of automation to reduce crew sizes to as small as possible.
-See above
-We're spread out. Cities aren't a thing yet.
-There are nations on Terra of quite small numbers, and nobody's enforcing a galaxy-wide rule on the minimum required population
-Warp drives?
Why are you complaining? It adds another aspect to the RP.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
- With who? You're "on the galactic rim, has no exceptionally special materials, is off the beaten track, and is really pretty insignificant".
- How do you build that automation and the support for that automation with so few people and such low GDP?
- See above.
- What the fuck, how are you a nation.
- Yes. But it's very unreasonable for such a minor nation to have the galaxy's 4 largest vessels.
- It's only 2195, FTL drives from the time of Novus' departure from Terra to the reaches of the rim would have you still in transit.
I'm complaining because you're being fucking stupid.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
Since you're apparently unamused-
Fen! If you see this, I pass any GMing duties I had back to you. Also, official retcon: the Sigma Antares colony fleet is out in space somwhere, nobody is certain where exactly.
Somebody holler at me when we're at about 2210.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
Minor question, did we actually reset after WWLO or is this a continuation?
Been wondering for a while but I've basically been too afraid to ask.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
Hrm... Well I might need to figure how to asspull everything back together.
That and I wasn't actually in the universe when it got reset... but I suspect fenway would dismantle my kneecaps if I were to pull that one and spontaneously shit ARK-1 into the universe via self inflicted plot hole.

@Vin wat? Thought HexaWhatever had been set up for a while.
@proto if he does dismantle your knees, invite me, I'd like to observe.

Re: Once More, With Feeling
Hexalan has existed for a while. It's just been super isolationist and no one knows about it. [X] discovers its existence some point in 2200.Commander Error wrote:@Vin wat? Thought HexaWhatever had been set up for a while.
