500 pounds of liquid metal spat out of the barrel in milliseconds, sending reverberations screeching through the wreck of a hundred tanks, a thousand APC's, a million smashed corpses of robot hell. An explosion lit the sky, already burning in a nuclear fire. The entire bridge section was wiped clean as an entire battalion fell before them, a walker detonated, a tank melted where it stood.
Hallix braced against the massive gun as another battalion took the former's place, filling the bridge again. His face was almost unrecognizable; caked in oil, grime. The once elegant power armor surrounding his body cracked, sparking, broken. His holographic display flickered weakly in front of him, a tactical map in the corner. Everything red. He wiped his hand against his head, a line of blood dripping down from a cut. Hallix smashed his fist against the side of the massive gun and it pulsed, wavering before disgorging 500 pounds of liquid death. The battalion fell. Another rose up.
The headset buzzed. "Walker in the north!" Cried Lavria, her image appearing over the map. Hallix could see her dancing through the army on the right, glowing red sword in hand, cutting down anything in her way. The walker towered over her, anchored against the aft portion wreck of the U.E.A Final Hope, the massive antimatter pulse cannon slung on it's underbelly rotating to meet her. The barrel glowed and vanished as a cloud of purple lightning enveloped the mechanism, disgorging a bolt of pure black at the red figure below it. Hallix grasped the railgun and heaved, rotating it towards the walker, and fired. 500 pounds of molten fire. The walker stumbled and crumbled, collapsing upon the cloud of smoke marking the antimatter pulse's final destination. It rumbled to a halt. Hallix watched the wreck for a brief moment, watched as it lifted itself and tossed to the side, the familiar red figure brushing off steel plates as if they were water before resuming her waltz with death. He swung the gun around again, met the oncoming battalion, and fired. 500 pounds of pure hatred, pure anger, raw and unprocessed. "Fuck you!" He screamed as the weapon discharged. "This is for Vanidan!" Another tank disintegrated. "This is for every member of Alpha you bastards killed!"
And the gun detonated, sending shards of metal as the antimatter core was compromised by weapons fire, sending Hallix flying backwards. He skidded along the ruined street as 500 pounds of magma rained down around him. He smashed against the wall, impaled on a piece of rebar, immobilized. Defeated. He ripped a pulse gun from the hands of a dead soldier next to him, checked the chamber, and continued fighting, stuck against the wall. To his right, he saw Lavria, her sword dark as it lay buried in the asphalt behind her. She continued lashing out at the army around her, a piece of rebar grasped in her hands. The army marched on, obscuring her, blotting her out, and Hallix turned to the robotic onslaught in front of him. He fired, continued firing, mowing down the army as it advanced, taking hits of laser fire that burned the skin, seared the armor. He fired until the gun stopped. Ammunition zero. He tossed the gun, grasped the rebar sticking through his chest, and pulled it out. He wielded it, stood up, and smashed the nearest robot's skull in. He impaled the smaller walker, even as the world turned grey. He decapitated another as the color drained, smashed more as the world lost all meaning, and everything faded to black.

[THREE YEARS EARLIER]
Tanya looked up from the telescope's monitoring screen as she heard someone come in behind her. Countless charts and arrays danced on the various monitors in front of her, the most prominent being the picture of Jupiter on the largest screen above her. It was centered on the Great Red Spot; it roiled as the Great Red Spot so often does. In the very center of the storm, marked by a pulsing circle, a tower seemed to poke out. Just barely, mostly obscured by clouds, imperceptibly there.
Tanya watched as Gion walked up the stairs to her control station, a tray of food in hand. A simple bagel sandwich, egg and cheese and sausage, seasoned and lightly toasted. A cup of tea beside it, still steaming. Her favorite. Gion placed it down next to her and took a seat. "Anything new?" he asked.
"Nothing you don't know," Tanya said with a slight laugh. She took hold of the tea and took a sip. Lightly sweet, easy on the throat. Invigorating.
"The President wants a report in three hours," he said, tapping his watch.
"They don't know any more than we do. It's building, sure, but for what?"
"War." A moment of silence. Tanya almost dropped the sandwich, having just picked it up.
"What?"
"The President sent a report. One of the monitoring satellites was shot down as it passed over the Scar."
"I didn't see anything."
"Europa's obscured by Jupiter. Of course you didn't." Gion chuckled, and shook his head. Tanya took a bite. Perfectly cooked, as Gion always does. "Considering the activity we detected around the Scar, the president wants to nuke the site. It's too dangerous to let it rebuild anymore."
"That's crazy."
"I told him that too. He wants your opinion."
"Same answer. We need to learn from it, not destroy it." Gion got up.
"I'll tell him what you said." He walked to the stairs, then stopped. "Regardless of the final decision, the president is sending Alpha. They launch in a week."

[ONE YEAR LATER]
The light sparkled through the ice as the sun rose over the planet. Europa, once thought to be the new home of humanity as it reached for the stars.
Humanity's first spaceship was not one of peace. It bristled with the pinnacle of terrestrial weapons; cannons, missile racks, even a laser emitter or two. Lights flicked on and off on it's angular surface as it tracked through space. The massive vessel, propelled through space by three rings of ionic thrusters over 6 months of waiting, watching, listening.
Alpha prepared aboard.

This is Galvanized.
You are Alpha, the most qualified and capable members of the United States ever to exist, equipped with the best the nation has to offer, on a suicide mission to save the planet. Or so you're told. It's 2020. Not much has advanced; modern technology most applies, with a few exceptions. For now.
There will be suffering. There will be pain. Nobody knows what lies ahead. But you have your orders. See too it that you carry them out.
All these worlds are yours except Europa, attempt no landing there.
Application
Examples:
RULES: Standard RP rules apply.
More INFO: You'll be told on a need-to-know basis.
Here is the Kamikaze floor plan. The left is the upper deck (main deck), the right is the lower deck (secondary deck). Rooms are labelled. Only two decks.
This was built on the ground and shot into orbit on a REALLY BIG ROCKET. Components were installed afterwards.
Note that the Inner Ring contains the food, recreation, and studies. The outer ring contains the crew quarters, medical area, fitness (gotta stay fit in space). They ARE unbroken, so you can run around the ring. I did some calculations, and the outer ring's velocity is approximately 25 m/s to maintain .7 G gravity. The outer ring is slightly less.
Why are there so many doors? Simply put; to be able to seal off sections AND have alternate access to other sections in the event of combat damage. There's also enough spare parts to rebuild everything. It's designed to be as efficient as possible, and as self-sufficient as possible. There IS some equipment in storage to collect and process asteroids for parts (very limited), water, or minerals for Hydroponics. It could survive a very long time. There is also a magnetic radiation shield around the ship.
