Just one problem; their destination was inhabited.
In orbit over Delta Pavonis II, the fleet Admiral, Davies, declared they could not colonize - and terraform - a world already inhabited. Pre-industrial or not, reptilian or not, and twenty years in F-Drive be damned, they would not commit genocide.
Shortly thereafter, the flagship, Star of Terra, went dark. Commanders waited nervously, expectantly, and quietly until the announcement came:
"This is Fleet Admiral Barian. We have come too far to turn back. This world is ours; all ships, prepare to begin colonization."
Welcome to 2245 Terran civilization. Or the edge of it, anyhow.
Background//
Since the unification of Earth under the United Nations Interstellar Administration, the homeworld has been sending their overflowing population out to other worlds. Proxima Centauri was first; then Barnard's Star, Capella, Alpha Ceti, Sigma Draconis. And now Delta Pavonis.
Rules and Restrictions//
Technology here is similar to what one might find in Halo; kinetics and lasers exist, fusion and plasma generators provide power, ships are large and bulky, and humanity constantly scrabbles with itself.
AI, high-speed FTL, shields, anti-gravs, and other such things are still the realm of fiction.
Rules are the standard RP set.
You//
You are a Captain, Commander, or Admiral in charge of one of the fleet's many ships. You could command a colony ship, with thousands aboard; perhaps a transport, filled with equipment; a small few will command military ships, tasked with defense.

The intention here is a fusion of ERP and FPRP, with you leading a sizable force of people. Instead of vague, seldom-mentioned leaders, you rely on charisma, skill, personality, or fear to control and lead your people.
I will only accept a few military vessels. Bear in mind civilian ships often greatly exceed military ones in populatiln; military vessels rarely have more than 5,000 crew. All military ships are U.N. UNSV.
