"Deadbolt". The pilot's callsign you go by, and the pilot's callsign that's had more than one enemy ship turn and run from. Lucky for them, your term in the FutureCraft Empire is up; you're allowed to leave and do your own thing, now.
Lucky for you, this is a nice chance to make a profit. As you wander out the airlock of your (former) carrier, you glance around. You've been dropped on a large, but backwater station; could be worse.
You see a ship dealer, shuttleport, trading post, and a large hangar at the far end of the hall. Tossing a final salute to the crew of your ship, you head down the hall. Thanks to your service, you have a fair bit of cash in the bank - enough for a pretty good ship.
Strolling into the ship dealer, the owner, Marty, greets you enthusiastically. Unfortunately, he says, he only has three ships ready to go; but you can take a look anyway.
First, you spot a Mobian pinnance. Apparently decommissioned, it now gleams and has been refitted for light cargo work. Cheap and effective. Not armed, though, and lightly defended.
Next, a Hexalani light freighter; larger than the pinnance, but much slower. Better shields and a lot more cargo space, though. Brand-new, or close enough to count; her engines are still shining and the cargo bay door barely whirrs.
Finally, you spot an aging Novan 1st-generator Prowler. Nothing special on the speed and no huge cargo hold, but she's armed and still hides well, despite her age.
Marty looks at you questioningly. What do you pick?
VOTE BELOW; pick one of the three following options.
A) Mobian pinnance
B) Hexalani freighter
C) Novan prowler

Mobian Pinnace, as I will propably have some money leftover afterwards and living on a tight budget sounds shit.
(OOC, this sounds very similar to Star Citizen)

Re: Choose Your Own FutureCraft
Quick pros and cons:
Pinnance: Fast, maneuverable, and with 2 decent laser cannon. Small cargo hold, though, and isn't overly long-range.
Freighter: Huge cargo hold, and pretty solid shields. Weapons have been yanked, however, and she turns like a brick after the decommissioning.
Prowler: Stealthy, and moderately fast, even running dark. Two HADES torpedoes. Medium cargo hold, and slightly lacking in shields.
Will tally it up after 4 more votes. You can revise your vote if you want.

Re: Choose Your Own FutureCraft
Screw it, I wanna write a thing.
---
You decide on the Prowler. What's not to like? Stealthy, comfortable, fast enough... cargo is a little low, but hey, that's what hazard pay is for, right?
You make the money transfer simply enough, and find yourself with 7,400kr. left of your original 422,000. A little tight, but some cargo runs (or Yarr!) should sort that.
You board and get the ship into space. The dealer seemed mildly upset by your choice... not that it matters. As you ponder your next move, you hear a ping, and a computerized voice comes over comms;
"Alert. Two incoming vessels, intercept course. Detecting active weaponry."
Welp. That can't be good. A quick check shows six torpedoes in the magazines. You could take them on... wait, hey. Stealth ship. That's gotta count for something, right? And of course, poruing on the speed is always an option.
DO YOU:
A) Swing around and drop the fighters
B) Go dark and lose them
C) See what the engines can do at full power

C, considering that the stealth functions may or may work. I'd consider shooting them up, but I have no idea where you are or who they are.
