The map for player locations!
Everyone can make an icon and I'll put them in the one in the OP.

Enforcer engaged the spider-mode as he collided with the ground, unable to counteract the singularity in time. His gravlev device was overloaded and he wouldn't be able to hover any longer. He flung the singularity away using his gravity manipulators and it detonated. As several more contacts popped up in the building, he decided that collateral damage was no longer an issue, at least, with this building. He switched his main gun to the Fusion Coil Splicer and began charging it. He moved away from the lowerclass housing building onto the street below the skyrail- which was devoid of vehicles- and aimed at the building. 10 seconds to firing.

(FYI: Fusion Coil Splicers have a very distinct whine associated with them, at least in atmosphere, and their beam signature is unmistakable. Icon will come soon)

GM:: I'll assume everyone's in the city by now.

Glowing Hexagonal panels slide down the shield dome and meld into each other, eventually dimming to create an transparent, impenetrable wall. The four gates are now closed. You will have no more contact with anything outside the city's shield dome.

A voice rings in your mind. It has no source, more of a thought than a sound, but it is not your own. "Now is the time to decide where your true loyalties lie. To your nation or to your self? To wrath or to mercy? To the sword or to the shield? Corruption or purity? Logic or rashness? Cooperation or contempt? Tradition or progression? Many questions, but the most pressing now, you'll find, 'to life, or to death?' To complete the First Ring and graduate to the next, you will have to complete one task: Illuminate our City of Light."

Panes of shield dome become opaque, blocking what little sunlight filtered through the orange-black clouds decorating Ember's atmosphere. The apparently sourceless ambient light that accounted for the majority of Lux's luminescence dims as if consumed by the shadows. Darkness falls, a thick velvet curtain with more substance than the absence of light should have.

Again, the voice echoes inside of your mind, "The lighting can no longer be controlled remotely. Systems must be restored using the manual override at the stations in each of the four quarters. Beware the shadows. They are given life by the dark and driven to snuff the candles that attempt to return the light."

=============================

The 1st ring's skyrail system is currently online. It can be used to travel to and from any of the stations along its perimeter. The inner rings' Skyrail systems will be offline until the First Ring is completed. Walkways, bridges, and other means to cross the crevasse are impassable. They will be restored to functionality when the First Ring is completed.

The First Ring contains citizen housings (completely deserted, of course), warehouses for storage of food and other necessities (mostly empty), immigration centers, several parks and recreation areas, skyrail stations, and waterways. Most of you have already obtained weapons. This is fortunate, weaponry is scarce in this Ring.

=============================

New Bestiary Entry:
Spoiler:
Shade: A bodily incarnation of the dark. Can be repressed by natural light or the light produced by the city. They can also be killed by physical trauma. Slow-moving, but attack in large numbers and posses immense strength. Shades typically spawn within enclosed spaces or anywhere that the city is not illuminated.

Val shook her head. That was... unsettling, to say the least.

Turning on the light mounted to her rifle, she cast it about, moving to the room's door. Listening a moment, she checked the handle - locked -and stepped back, loosing a burst into the lock and blowing the door open.

Looking dlwn the hall, she raised her weapon and advanced slowly, alert - both physically and mentally - for any movement or sign of life.

Here's symbol for Enforcer; Image

Enforcer stumbled as the city descended into darkness. Internal systems were completely overloading due to a massive external power spike. The Splicer shut off and Enforcer struggled to remove himself from the area; he could not. He took several steps before collapsing as his servos gave way, most systems overloaded and unusable. It would take a full re-calibration and restart to bring up most of his systems. Most. His sensor system was completely offline and lost functionality; he expected that it would no longer function as it once had. If he was lucky, it would only lose range. If he wasn't, he would lose entire channels.

He began shutting off systems, one by one, for a full reset. The Photon Shield was still functional, surprisingly; he would keep it online. He then turned off the AI core that housed him and he was no more, for now. The red lights on his body winked off, indicating his non-function, and Enforcer began his reset. It would take several hours.

OOC: Also, I assume that by natural light, you mean white light like that produced from a star.

Here's my symbol:
Image

Oaghonyr woke up. His body hurt and the internal analysis showed, that his rude landing has destroyed some of his external systems. Especially his right arm. Most of his artificial muscles were destroyed there. He activated his visual sensors, only to see, that the gigantic object, which dropped him was still hovering in the air, but it was fighting someone, maybe the woman Oaghonyr encountered earlier. He wanted to get up, when suddenly something hit the flying object. His sensors quickly analyzed it, it was an unstable singularity. It pulled this object down and it crashed into the ground right next to Oaghonyr. It struggled to get the singularity off of it. But the gigantic thing was stronger than the singularity and threw it away. It threw the singularity into Oaghonyr's direction. The singularity exploded and knocked Oaghonyr out again.

Code: Select all

Reactivation in progress---

Power: Stable

Sensors: Partly active; Magnetometric and Seismic sensors offline

Extremities: Partly active; Right arm heavily damaged; spare parts required for repair

Artificial Intelligence: Damaged, reboot activated
A lonely robot was patrolling the streets beneath the Skyrail near the park, when it suddenly saw a movement. P_0334 tried to figure out if it was just a rogue droid, or one of the intruders which entered the city today. He tried to communicate via wireless communications, but nobody answered. So he tried to communicate by language. "Ova om na?" And, to his surprise, somebody answered: "Lo'a ovō Oaghonyr." P_0334 was amazed. He had never heard someone speak such an old fashioned AI speech. It almost sounded like it was a noble accent, almost as if it was an AI constructed on a forgeworld. He asked Oaghonyr to come out. Suddenly a rather small figure stood in front of him, with a crossbow in his hands. The last thing P_0334 saw was a bolt, which went right into his AI core.

Code: Select all

Spare parts acquired
Oaghonyr rebooted. His right arm felt better, maybe even stronger than before. In front of him laid a robot, with four legs and a laser on it's back. It looked awful, because a tungsten rod was sticking out of his biomechanical brain. But even more disgusting was the left leg of the robot. It has been torn apart, with the synthetic fluid, which filled the muscles, dropping on the floor. The trail of drops was going towards him and when Oaghonyr looked at his right arm, he saw that it was covered in it. If Oaghonyr would have been a human he would have thrown up right now.
Oaghonyr walked towards this poor thing and studied it, before he extracted the biomechanical AI core and buried it.

OOC: Enforcer's Photon Shielding System is still online, because it doesn't require the main AI core to function. You wouldn't be able to access him so easily without overloading the system. But there are still ways to immobilize or trap him.
