Faction Sheets

This thread is for posting finished faction sheets, not for posting suggestions or complaints about the faction sheets. If you have a suggestion or complaint regarding this post or the faction sheets, please post it in this thread.

The Faction Sheet is meant to be an overview of your faction. It contains important information that remains constant throughout your faction's history or for a majority of it. It does not contain information that changes throughout time. The timeline contains information that changes as time progresses, like population, territory, etc. Each entry is an even in the history of your faction. Right now, the only entries should be events that take place before introduction to the galactic community. The last event in the faction's timeline should be first contact (some exceptions). You should write enough meat for your faction to fill its own doc in the wiki. If a faction is divided into several provinces, a basic information page will have to be completed for each if there are notable differences. If a faction split from another faction after galactic introduction, the timeline should only include the events leading directly up to the split.

What about major events that make certain informations like homeplanet, and capital planet inapplicable? how do we handle those in the faction sheet?

Homeplanet wouldn't change, but if your capital or any other basic info ever changes, just add the new one.to that field.

Use the other thread for any further questions. I'll add instruction to the OP for each comcern addressed there.

Hm, I see now that I have to change my timeline. If the rest of humanity doesn't have FTL until 2140, then it doesn't make sense that I have it in 2060 or '80, no matter how technologically advanced I am.

Scientific Name:

Habitat: Warm oxygen rich environments. Can tolerate extreme heat but does not deal well with cold.

Anatomy: Average height of three meters, six limbs, two legs and four arms. exoskeleton that is harder than diamonds but if broke takes an extremely long time to heal. A new exoskeleton usually takes place before wound it heals. Species requires a lot of oxygen to function so they have two rather large hearts to pump blood throughout the body. Species has three fingers and a thumb on each hand, arms are incredibly flexible and strong. A hard punch will easily dent metal with mild damage to the hand. Despite their size and strength they are not lumbering giants. Their legs are very strong because they have to hold up so much weight in a heavy gravity environment. They can sprint at an impressive 8 meters per second (18 mph) and have a long distance running speed of 3.5 meters per second (8 mph).

Life Cycle: Egg -> Larva -> Adult. Repeat. Although they are not legally adults until age 35 (measured from hatching). Larval stage ends around age 17 (Larva are not self functioning).

Diet: Largely carnivorous, vegetation consumption is minimal.

Psychology: Very objective and straight to the point, they can often miss finer details that they do not consider important.

Social: Groups of anywhere from 30 to 50 live in one household as a colony. Colonies are separated into families that live on separate floors, colonies are very inter connected and generally consider everyone in the colony family even if separate families are not biologically related. Heads of families collectively manage household taxation, energy, and water bills.

Culture: Confederates are independent people with many personal and political freedoms. For instance, citizens can walk around with loaded sidearms anywhere. This deters most crime. Almost all Confederates (99%) have homes. They still celebrate many ancient holidays from Old Earth.

Specialties/Special Techs: Exterminator weapons, hyper-lasers, armor technology.

Military Specialization: The Orion Confederation excels in offense. The Confederation keeps nine huge fleets, which are often split up during peacetime. These fleets are perfect for punching through border and planetary defenses. The Confederation also is adept at assaulting planets. The Confederation Marines and the Shock-Trooper Corps are some of the finest troops in the galaxy.

It was brought about by a coup that transformed the Orion Confederation into the Orion Imperium.

Event/History:

2090- Hundreds of Earth's wealthiest, dissatisfied with the Earth governments, pool resources to construct a massive sub-light colony ship hidden in the Asteroid belt, the Quaesitor

2110- Construction of ship completed.

2112- The Quaesitor with approximately 1,000,000 colonists on board and declared independent from any government upon exiting solar system.

2130- Quaesitor arrives in Kalledyne system, where a crashed ship is discovered on the moon. Confirmed to be of extraterrestrial origin, a working FTL drive is found and installed on the ship.

2131- FTL error causes Quaesitor to crash on Farin IV, a garden world approximately 300 parsecs from Earth. Ship is almost completely intact and casualties are minimal. Construction of NeoRome begins.

2138- Following the first successful space launch, the colony is christened NeoRome and the the Hierarchy is established.

2145- All 6 planets of the Farin system exploited.

2150- FTL technology successfully replicated and installed on multiple scouting ships.

2160- Colony established in neighboring system.

2170- Experimentation into fusion technology begins

2180- Fusion Splicing technology established and first device introduced; the Splicer Reactor

2185- The Splicer Reactor allows for an unprecedented surge in productivity and potential. FTL travel becomes widely available.

2200- Scouts sent to Earth fail to report back. Second colony in another system established.

2220- Third colony established. The NeoRoman Military Armada is established and it's orbital installation (NERMA) is constructed over NeoRome.

2225- Fusion Splicing technology perfected, though insufficient materials exist to fully realize its full potential.

2230- Official currency of NeoRome becomes the Rom rather than the old Earth Dollar. The Rom is backed by Xenon, a vital component in countless materials, and one of the rarest compounds

2240- Military begins sending out scouts through space.

2250- Population reaches 5 Billion. First contact.
