Core Hexalan: Fair skin, gray eyes, black or very dark brown hair that usually ages very well.
South Hexalan: Their hair tends to be fairer and their skin tanner, but share many similarities with their core origins.

Essentially, but with grey rather than green eyes.
North Hexalan: They have flesh much darker than those of core and southerners. Their other features are highly variable, and pointless to attempt for classification.

Darkstar citizens normally have a wide range of colors in the hair, ranging from crimsom red to silver.
Cybernetics are common, sometimes just estetical modifications, but widely used on other things.

Variations occur from place to place, but the color black and red is common in the core systems, not because of nationalism, but because of the overrall look.

OOC: Basically,Cyberpunk styled people.

I've been told my latest model is pretty freaking ugly by several different sources, so I'm going to provide two others to at least provide some insight as to what I was going for.

Tiens are a bird-like species of bipeds hailing from a galaxy far, far away. They are incapable of flight despite possessing wings (long, wispy, finger-like appendages known as aurii are present instead of solid flying muscles) and the fact that close to their entire body being enveloped by feathers. This downing is instead groomed in a fashion similar to human hair and serves as something as a status symbol; again not unlike the example of hair. In Tiens, though, a better comparison when regarding the concept of hair would be the crest, or arxin in their tongue - a set of feathers that lower or raise depending on mood. They begin growth at birth and to be without them is a penalty dealt only to the harshest of criminals in lieu of death.

Tiens are highly militaristic by nature, though interestingly enough are more inclined toward socialistic growth than contemporary races. Instances of Tien-on-Tien warfare restrict themselves to the early pages of the species' history. Errant individuals that would kill their own kind are the exception rather than the rule, with most preferring to contribute to a higher cause than such selfish activities as crime. This has weakened their security systems somewhat when dealing with other civilizations, though it bears mention that most of their settlements are comprised of a majority of their own. It's been scientifically proven that even the hardiest of other races cannot help but feel a sense of unease at the average Tien's large, discerning eyes and typically rigid stature on initial exposure.

I've been thinking about changing the Feles a bit so they're less obviously feline/human mix. And the name.

The Strigiforme are 3 meter tall or so owls. Some can breathe fire. The average colour is a brown-grey. Most are xenophobic. The Strigiforme adore hatchlings.

Ok I'm going to speak everyone's mind here (I think). The firebreathing is just ridiculous. Can't you give them something a bit more unique? (This may or may not have been discussed already).

You know, I'm a firm owl supporter and would start so much shit if you ever became noncanon, but I'm inclined to agree. If you're gonna have them breathe fire you should give them some characteristics to justify it.

The justification is that a lot of places on Cuuyth are cold as hell and mountainous. They spread all across their 'most habitable zone' and then due to population pressure spread to less habitable regions. Obviously, fire is a nice way to warm things up with minimal use of foods to increase body heat, and also spurred their development of intelligence. The methane is pressurized in a gland near the back of the mouth, with the methane itself generated from the foods they eat. It is pressurized then mixed with a small amount of a chemical that ignites when exposed to oxygen. Coincidentally, this subset of Strigiforme have large sections of internal areas which are fireproof.

Also, breathing fire makes a lot more sense than cryogenic breath or lightning breath. If it was taken out, I wouldn't make too much of a fuss, but considering it has some IRL basis and also makes them even further out from everyone else, I think it could be left in.

I think it has more to do with a fact that a creature covered in highly flammable material somehow gained the evolutionary trait of fire breathing. That doesn't lend itself to natural selection at all.

Also, a lot of places on Earth are cold as hell and mountainous, but humans don't breathe fire. A lot of places on Earth are watery as hell and oceanic, but humans don't have gills. Need I go on?

But how frequently do humans end up in these places? And, not to mention, humans only moved out of East Afrique about 500,000 years ago(idk exactly, I am no anthropologist), not nearly long enough to develop these traits. The Strigiforme, on the other hand, with their ability to fly lending them the ability to both fly up to high mountain peaks and long distances, would have had more access to these regions where traits such as these would develop. The Strigiforme also took a fairly long time to reach sentience; while always being clever, ancient Strigiforme were extremely spread out, thus giving them additional time before their own agrarian development.

I don't think you can use natural selection to justify firebreathing in something like a giant, sentient owl. You start to run into questions like "Why would the owl's intelligence evolve, but not it's body to match? Why would a giant owl be produced in the first place?" We can only stretch things so far.

I for one support ach and his firebreathing.
