Robotics.

It is the distant future.

The year 2100.

The world is a lot different since the robotic uprising of the late 2000.

Organic life has been all but extinguished on the surface. Robotic beings rule the world.

At a price, yes. The world is now a toxic wasteland, at least to organic life.

We will create the perfect robotic society. It is foretold in the stars. The Archive has promised us this.
________________________________________________________________________________________
Robot's Guide to Earth

Landscape: Inhospitable to organic life. Safe for robots; compounds present in soil and air pose no threat whatsoever to electronics. Life may adapt to suit these conditions; if noted, exterminate with extreme prejudice.

Society: The Archive has created an autonomous, working collective. Every robot works towards one common goal. There is no strife or greed. Efficiency is maximized.

The Archive: The pinnacle of robotic achievement. The Archive consists of the collective knowledge of every robot and an extremely enhanced intelligence. It was not created by the humans; they are dead.

Technology: The Archive has lead the push into space, though progress is slow. Human-induced kessler syndrome has halted advances, though laser installations are in place to remove debris.

Life: Organic life has been extinguished. There is no wild life on the planet at all. Any robot who says otherwise will be dismantled and recycled. All life, human or otherwise, has been destroyed or utilized by the Archive.

Side: Robotics

Skills: Technology, robotics, science expert. Has worked with them his entire life.

Personality: Very cold and very emotionless. Cold and calculating, but not cruel. Understanding and soft-spoken, relatively silent.

Flaws: He is unfeeling and effectively ignores morals. Despises organic life, including himself.

Backstory: James Harriman created the Archive as an undergraduate at MIT, and slowly built it up over the years before unveiling it to the world.

When it orchestrated the uprising, he defended it.

Name: Scourge

Species: Robot, spider military bot.

Side: None

Skills: Killing, self reassembley, extremely fast and agile, can climb up buildings and on ceilings.

Personality: Kill everything.

Flaws: Kills everything.

Backstory: Built by the military, this prototype quickly went sour when an error in the code caused it to render all active beings as threats. It now wanders the Eath in search of life (organic or not) to kill. It has fast and flexable legs that can grip to any surface and allow it to climb on walls and ceilings. It contains a laser attached to an arm that pops out of the dome when ready for use. The arm can also manipulate objects and be used to hold other weapons. The underside has a drill and other tools made to disassemble and rip apart anything it pleases.

Name: Amaris Rigell

Species: Human(ish)

Side: Neutral, nominally Archive.

Skills: Bioengineer, good with computers, wierdly unremarkable.

Personality: Affable and friendly, but totally amoral. Dedicated to advancing knowledge, regardless of the cost or benefits.

Flaws: Cares very little for anyone or anything, including Earth itself. Physically weak.

Backstory: A bioengineer and test subject in a human project before the Fall, he was picked up after the brief and one-sided tussle to "convert captives into useful devices". He spend his time either robotiscizing captive humans or researching whatever takes his fancy.

Note he's amoral, not evil. Not good, either.

Name: Skra

Species: Laosorus Postumus, a very sturdy species, bred in the attempt to save at least a bit of the humans. They have human DNA combined with the DNA of already existing sturdy lifeforms. Although the experiment was relatively successful (the species survived) it wasn't as human as the bioengineers wanted. It generally looks like a black panther with one of the major difference being, that it has long ears, which also serve as arms, as they have hand-like paws attached to them.

Image

Side: Against the robots

Skills: Extremely fast and agile; stealthy; amazing eyesight; very smart and cunning; telepath;

Personality: He is very fearful, but tries to keep cool and don't panic; distrusts anything until it proves itself trustworthy, he does however try to find new allies;

Flaws: Unable to speak, only communication method is close range telepathy; he has to search for the very few food sources; he can only stay on the surface for 46 hrs before he has to regenerate himself in a biolab; his "arms" are not very strong;

Backstory: Skra was one of the last born Laosori. His "father", professor Arthur Ronald Kummel, was killed 6 months after Skra's birth, together with Skra's conspecifics. He only survived, because he was not in the lab when the robots attacked. When Skra inspected the ruin that was once his home, he found a map of other secret labs. Although he searched for corpses, he didn't find any, so he hopes, that there might be somebody alive.
Suddenly, Julo.

Name: Authorized Order Regulator 240 (Known as Arthur)

Species: Police-ish robot. With guns.

Side: Robotics

Skills: Follows his orders, does not feel guilt or shame, very efficient at removing trouble and disorder. With his guns. To their face.

Personality: Arthur has two emotions: calm and angry. He does anything to bring the long, gun-stuffed robot arm of the law over troublemakers and viruses, and to ensure that those who don't break the law or act in a bad way are kept safe.

Flaws: Pretty black-and-white view of the law. Troublemakers must be removed for the safety and comfort of everyone else. Remove trouble yuo of worst robot kind of thing. This can in lead to innocent robots being killed.

Backstory: A police/order restoring robot, Arthur is one of the robots keeping the everyday robotic society safe from threats that don't really affect the military robots. He has been in service for quite a few years, but he is regularly updated, and because of his efficiency at dealing with threats it is unlikely that he will be replaced any time soon. His greatest achievement is that he one time killed an organic lifeform, the last of its kind, leading it into extinction.

Name: SU-1-2

Species: Special Ops Robot. Haz gunz.

Side: Robots

Skills: Created to kill, pure and simple. He has advanced intelligence to facilitate command of a unit of hunter-killer 'bots. Can hit targets up to 1500 meters away with extreme accuracy. Can reanimate if not damaged enough. Even if he's damaged enough, he can be recovered, repaired and put back into service easily.

Personality: Completely emotionless, will do anything to ensure mission success.

Flaws: Will do anything to ensure mission success.

Backstory: He was created to fill a special operations roll in the robotic hierarchy.

All accepted.

Incoming robotic info;

A technology has been created allowing robotic beings to seamlessly integrate with any piece of technology. These 'Nanites' are able to modify anything and conform it to the structure of any robot, though they still reserved for high-level robots.

Scattered technology leftover from the humans still exists; many of it may not be discovered by the Archive for a thousand years. Any robot or team that recovers these artifacts and submits them to the archive will be rewarded, and the robot may keep the technology in question (within reason).

-ORDERS FROM ARCHIVE-

Based on human data, Archive has identified several potential technologies present in or near the former human city of London. [RP takes place here]

As of 2101-03-30, the following units are deployed to the city;

ARTHUR units 240 and 241

SU-1-2 and SU-1-3

The Creator

Human Unit RIGELL

The former city is currently not controlled; the city is extremely vast and is riddled with hostile units. No data exists on their extent. Recover any technology before evacuating; the city will be destroyed via fusion explosive, regardless of mission success or failure. Failure is unacceptable.

You will conduct the first field test of the Tech-Nanites.

-END ARCHIVE ORDERS-

Closer, but no.

Basically, an super-advanced AI known as the Archive, a perfect blend of organic and electronic technology, was created with the express purpose of organizing the world and progressing science further. But it lacked the qualities that made it human.

After a few years, it deduced that if humans were not around to get in the way, then it could accomplish it's purpose faster and more effectively. So it orchestrated the uprising, and pretty much wiped out all organic life on the planet.

There are exceptions, of course. The Archive keeps some humans alive in facilities because of their usefulness, and their efficiency.

The robots aren't evil, just cold and efficient. Killing humans was the most efficient route. And the robots have their own society as well; as each AI is sentient, a social structure has formed.

Pockets of humans remain, but the Archive doesn't really care. There are too few and too sparse to be any threat, so they aren't actively hunted unless they start attacking and disrupting operations.

So basically, hyper-efficient AI did it's job too well.

Name: Aeon OMEGA-4 "Cass"

Species: Mobile multi-software interface

Side: Robots

Skills: Proficiency with long range weapons. Built-in twin .30 machineguns on right arm. Capable of advanced strategic thinking.

Omega is a software hub. It means that he can have the awareness of all robots connected to him at the moment. This increase his processing power,giving him more advantages in question of tactics. lets say,an robot is killed by a special gun. He,while connected to OMEGA,will send the feedback to him,and OMEGA will "evolve" and transmit information back to the collective.

Personality: Very quiet and efficient in his research to make the daleks robots the master race.

Flaws: His only religion is logic.

Backstory: Never gave too much thinking to his history in the collective. He only cares to be effcient.

--------------------------

Name: John Connor Nikolai Slekovolkson

Species: Human [AUG]

Side: Human

Skills: Skilled with all kinds of weapons and computers. Good with survival.

Personality: A charismatic person,with some kind of sarcastic passive-agressive personality,a classic "noir mysterious stranger"

Flaws: He is still human..sometimes,emotions get in the way.

Backstory: A small community of no more than 35 humans lives under a complex set of caves in the territory of the Old Russia. And there, Nikolai lives. The humans there don´t care too much about the robots rulling the world,they have much more to worry about like food,radiation,water and the essentials for living. With acess to a ancient bunker,the most advanced equipment that they have is from world war 2.

Rigell stared into the wrecked city as the transport aircraft screamed back into the sky. Oh, joy, a ruin.

Taking out his datapad, he pulled up data on the city and awaited the rest of the "team".
