Zuguthian Decorative is not an everyday alphabet. It's used for headlines of official documents, for seals, for ship markings and for decoration. For everyday things the Terran latin alphabet is used.

Consonants and vowels are grouped together in syllables, with the syllables being stacked on top of or below the vowels. Every syllable is read top-to-bottom, and words are read syllable by syllable left-to-right. The top and bottom halves of different vowels can be combined to make other sounds; for example, for the word "Like", the A-sound and the EE/I-sound are combined to make the AI-sound.
