2100 - Hexalan, a Scandinavian company based on Terra, becomes a corporate power among Earth and her colonies with rugged, affordable equipment and vehicles.
2125 - The corporate headquarters moves off Earth and to Pleth VII in celebration of its 50th anniversary.
2150 - Removed from the eyes of the [LEADING HUMAN GOVERNMENT], Hexalan begins assembling its security forces to a more military poise.
2175 - A decline in the ubiquity of Hexalani products due to other competing brands leads to their first decline in profits since their costly relocation. This leads to halts in production in favor of development.
2200 - The brand is revamped as a seller of versatile hardware, suited to more militant means. Profits stabilize to workable levels, and Hexalan becomes one of the leaders in armed defense.
2225 - With most customers already in possession of what they felt they needed, sales drop, with the most commonly purchased items being ammunition. In response, several lines of ammunition are rolled out.
2250 - With several prolific leaders of Hexalan being caught in scandals, sales plummet. Everything is put on hold.
2275 - The majority of the population of Pleth and surrounding systems having become reliant on Hexalan, donate several million. In response to this move, Hexalan declares sovereignty from the [LEADING HUMAN GOVERNMENT], Pleth becoming the capital system and borders extending to nearby systems agreeing to their rule. Construction of logistical and official buildings begins.
2300 - The Republic of Hexalan takes focus on defense, deciding on having a small, elite force due to the nature of their size, six fleets are planned. Since 2275, 3 systems have been gained.
2325 - Imperialization has become the primary focus, the Fourth Fleet leading the very unopposed charge. Since 2300, 5 systems have been gained.
2350 - Technologically left in the dust, several billion credits are poured into research, decommissioning the Sixth Fleet temporarily.
2375 - Using recovered tech from other nations, energy shields are a standard and basic energy weapons a military privilege. FTL technology has been significantly improved, increasing revenue gained from international and domestic trade.
2400/2700s - Over the next 3 centuries, a rinse and repeat method has been applied to advancement and expansion: conquer, research, conquer, research, etc. This has resulted in Hexalan owning just over 35 systems, and being able to compete with the other, ever-self-bettering empires. Current tech level resides lower than average, with the expense of top-of-the-line equipment being reserved for the best of the military, while the main force, numbering at 120 billion, are issued older, cheaper models. The 9 main fleets numbering at 70 escorts, 15 capitals, and a super-capital (dreadnought or juggernaut) each, and the 'commando' fleet at 25 escorts and 7 capitals. Hexalan regularly participates in intergalactic politics, and has a generally positive attitude both outwards and inwards, if not a bit paranoid by having the majority of forces stationed internally. While armed service is not compulsory, it is a tradition, leading to its large fighting force being very dedicated and unwavering. Recent research has gone into super-dreadnoughts, with several prototypes being built. AI's have a prevalence in Hexalan, due to the simple methods employed in their assemblage, this has led to their commonplace usage by civilians and personnel.

That's unholy OP. You shouldn't have that many ships, unless they are literally made of space cardboard from 100 years ago.

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
Wrote down the backstory and the events equivalent to the original RP.
I'm going to add the events regarding 'The Virus' and 'The Conspiracy' as well as the most recent RP to the backstory later.

2400 - Rogue elements of Cerea's 49th Expeditionary Force arrive from elsewhere in the galaxy to establish a new home on Cayla for the fugitive Tiens that comprised it.
2403 - Hostilities initiate between two factions - the spacefaring Cosmoa and the land-loving Terras - in a civil war over the direction of future colonial development.
2406 - Conflict dies down; a treaty is signed establishing the Taln Sovereignty as the singular power for all Tiens in the area, with Cayla deigned the capitol.
2510 - First official contact with otherworldly races. Fearing conflict like the one they escaped from, the Sovereignty fords up its borders and adopts a policy of isolation.
2550 - Hesitantly, the Taln open up their shipyards to commercial purposes and are met with much economic success.
2555 - Treaty signed with LJSI devoting industrial output in exchange for shared technological assets.

????? - After suffering grievous casualties in the 1st Galactic War, the Sovereignty reforms itself into the Protectorate and signs on with the SDI for the sake of self-preservation.

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
If we're resetting then we need to actually reset by which I mean scrap everything, come up with a method and procedure, and follow that procedure instead of everyone posting timelines and arguing about things that shouldn't even be up for discussion. The only way I can see hammering out and streamlining the process is to organize a group of people to manage and control a comprehensive timeline. Masters, if you will, of the game. Game Masters. GMs for short. The formation of this committee of GMs is Article I of my plan.
GMs are step 1.
Step 1 is GMs.
The organization of the committee of GMs exists in Article 1.
Since I do actually have time this week (spring break) I can present at least the initial portion of the plan whenever I'm not roofing.

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
A lot of people RP here, cats, just cutting them out of the loop entirely seems iffy to me.
And your suggestion would involve nuking everything, only to find a pile of weirdly familiar nations and factions arising. Because a fair few of the nations are entirely OC, and redoing them again does not appeal.
But if you want to collaborate with some folks, and come up with a timeline, procedure, and such, do so. Justmdon't rage if everybody else says no.

@Error it doesn't seem like he's saying completely cut people out completely so much as establish a group of rational people who know what they're doing to have the final say in what flies. I don't think he necessarily means nuke everything, because I can't see it happening any way other than what you describe - people basically express themselves in their factions so any new ones are going to look very much alike to the old roster.

I think everyone agreed on Error's idea of 'resetting the lore' except you, cats.
Even if people said 'yes, reset it', their posts always indicated favouring Error's point of view on things.
You don't just tear stuff down. Even my faction, which originated as a pretty pathetic StH-Eggman Empire clone turned out quite original as it developed. At this point, I mostly have to rename stuff to clear up the references, so even pointing at me would not be valid. (not to mention that using examples as points for something that effects a fairly large group is suicide for your credibility)

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
I have made a google docs uniting the lores that we have so far.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oiC ... sp=sharing
Tiel, I was unable to include the last 4 points of your lore for the following reasons:
LJS insisted on his faction being an OP galaxy-ruling powerhouse, which resulted in an agreement that LJSI must never have contact with any other faction. This was achieved by locating it in 'a galaxy far, far away', so that point either makes your faction OP (for being able to travel such distances) or introduces an overpowered element (LJSI) which both would not even fit into the lore.
The other three, you'd need actual dates for me to place them in a timeline.

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
LJS never RPs anyway.
On the last three, I'd have them if anyone could provide them. I tried to make the events prior to GW1 line up with MQR's increasing tension with SNK as much as possible, but beyond that something needs to be decided there. I'm not sure if Conspiracy should even be canon (I'm kinda with cats here as far as scrapping a lot of things) but the transition to Protectorate needs to happen about three years or so after the close of GW1.

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
[OOC:Tiel, pretending to be one of the tell brothers won't get you anywhere]
I feel like the events of 'The Conspiracy' should mostly be included, as the stuff that did happen during that had an impact on the situation at the start of the most recent RP.
As far as I noticed, the main reason people think "the Conspiracy" should be dumped is it's title refering to the conspiracy, which the lack of knowledge of upset some. However, the conspiracy did never make a move during that RP and the title turned out to be a red hering. So if you want to scrap it because of the conspiracy, your argument is invalid.

Re: Poll, Lore Reset
I want to scrap it because, like cats, I feel it didn't contribute anything to whatever storyline is going on here. Just more of the same Strigiforme aggression galaxy gank nonsense. If my negative opinion of it were due to your group I would have said so.
Re: Poll, Lore Reset
I think it was pretty much Ivan and one or two others that supported error, I had one or two of the more prominent members and the rest were neutral. But that's not important I don't see why you bring it up. If you think I want to nuke absolutely everything and advocate the disallowance of everything that is even remotely similar to anythig in the previous universe then its obvious that you either think me a fool or are one yourself. neither of these are particularly appreciated. Most people would be able to keep their factions unless they were blatantly stolen. It wouldn't matter how original they became as they developed, were not going to have ponies or characters from sonic the hedgehog. Even if they are just names. Names matter.
Factions, or the making of a standard format for faction info sheets, would be the second point.
The second point is factions.
Faction sheets are included in the point directly succeeding the first. The second one.
