The Antares is the most poweful ship of the Darkstar fleet in pure firepower. With a robust construction,state-of-the art in technology and powerful weaponry,it is a juggernaut in staying power. The Antares is commanded by a CIC. With E-War so dangerous at recent times,even with the FIREPACK system,the ship needs a trained crew to operate the "analogical" systems as a safety measure. However,it can be operated with just half the crew when using the automated systems.

It is excelent in broadside combat,armed with high-calliber cannons and energy weapons,as well as missiles tubes to launch anti-capital missiles. The entire energy network of the ship is optimized for him,giving him a respectable energy efficiency. Armed with many prototype technologies,like the Hellraiser,the Lancet,and the Centurion.

Hellraiser is a special weapon. It uses an electromagnetic field to shape and accelerate a stream of superheated molten metal to relativistic velocities, which then impacts its target and deals horrendous damage. It takes a long time to recharge,but its a powerful ship-board weapon.

The Lancet is a advanced concept of Xaser weapon. Its a common "beamer" in the overall nature,but instead of normal lasers,it uses focused x-ray emissions. It was made to overload shields or to "cut" hulls

The Centurion is a prototype shielding system. It is composed of "layers" of shielding,creating or adjusting layers to incoming damage. Energy based,more energy can be feed to it to produce more layers,thus a more powerful shielding. The problem is that while very effective,the Centurion is energy hungry when used at full power,making the weapons unpowered. Studies are on-going to find a reliable and powerful source of energy to feed it. When not in full power,is just a common shield system.

Example : The ship is with a normal shielding layer,and the enemy begin to use projectiles. The layer will be adjusted to be magnetic and repel,or reinforced with a photon shield.

The Gravity-Matrix is not an actual system and is ill-suited for combat at the moment [Early beta] but is in tests on this ship. Its a special matrix that can generate a gravity bubble to deflect incoming fire or bend energy beams. There are problems with that. While enveloped in this field,the ship weapons cannot be fired . And as a prototype,it is extremely hungry for energy.

And finally,the first mass destruction weapon of the fleet,the MFG [Micro Fold Generator] . It is a ship-to-ship missile,or a ship-to-surface city buster. WIth a fold-quartz core [ A special crystal that vibrates in a special maner. Can be used to create a subspace or fold-space FTL drive] The weapon harnesses fold faults to unleash a mass destructive effect similar to that of a black hole,but more shortlived. WHen the energy matrix overloads,the explosion simply vanish

Now,the ship is powerful,but there are 3 major flaws. The first one,its very costly to mantain and build. With many experimental systems and weapons,and the ship being big,the costs of mantaining the ship at the moment are big,so the capability to field big numbers of it are prohibitve.

Second,he cannot direct all his firepower to one vector only. His broadside capabilities are made to give overall fleet support,so he cannot focus all his weapons [Except the swivel turrets] on only one enemy.

Third,the ship have a adequate energy system,but with all this powerful weaponry,shows that heavy research on better power generation system is needed

The nation is going to convert the Defender starbase over Novus into a Titan. The ship is to be equipped with sublight and FTL drives, a super-heavy shielding system, an extensive weapons array, several hangar facilities, a number of repair and refit systems, and an as-yet-in-devlopment Nova Cannon.

When asked why the Titan was being planned, Prime Minister Korriman refused to comment. He did say, however, that the ship would serve a defensive role. The name will be announcee by the Admirals later today. The conversion is expected to take two to three years.

OOC, the Nova cannon is a directed-fusion weapon; a thermonuclear bomb is detonated in the containment field, and the resulting mini-star is ejected towards the target. Essentially, firing miniaturized, short-range suns. Incedibly slow-firing, mind blowing power cost, expensove as hell, and is in the conceptual stage.

The Hecht was developed by the engineers of the Darkstar Corporation with only one thing in mind : Speed. 4 high peformance thrusters [Designed with the help of the Scheneizel LTDA ,a racing yatch fabricant] plus 2 combat thrusters created just for him,the Hecht can achieve fast speeds with his high aceleration. His weaponry is all-frontal,with a good synergy with his speed - Most ships don´t have the speed to out-speed or out-manuever him. All this with the help of the upgraded stealth engine [Now capable of faking mind signatures or hiding it to a certain degree] its the perfect ambusher or anti-capital ship.

The Hecht is armed with a special development. Equipped with ram at the front and a Harpune projector,he can pierce armor with ease and deploying the Hellfire.

Harpune : The Harpune is a special shield projector. Using special vector algorithims,he projects all the shield in the frontal area,in the shape of a arrow. This reinforces the ram and makes sures that he can "tackle" and withstand the damage at the frontal area. His sleek format makes him less vulnerable at the front.

Hellfire : Special system that,when activated,"inject" streams of heated plasma on the target. Example: Usually he cuts trought the hull of a ship,but when possible,he can pierce enought to inject the plasma,and go away.

Ionic Disruptor : A special weapon that is made to disrupt enemy systems before the Hecht "move in for the kill "

The AI's military force is now significantly larger than the Solar Stratocracy's, but the Paladin continues to insist that the AI is not a threat. The AI's speakers emmited a strange sound, similar to that of the old dial up modem handshake sound. Then the following message was played thorughout the Solar Stratocracy.

The Strigiforme are assembling a task force to step in and take out the cause of the threatening Solari message if it becomes a threat to the Strigiforme. They would consist of 4 battlefleets and 2 carrier fleets, with the Aiigaiion and attached fleets joining them. This would act as an effective test of the Aiigaiion's upgrades, should a threat be made apparent.

Additionally, the Strigiforme have begun projects to tow asteroids to a system with no planets, though the precise reason is unknown.
