A new compound, nicknamed Phazon, has been detected in the core of NeoRome. It appears the Eclipse Cannon has interacted with the core in such a way to produce this compound. The core appears to be producing this compound in large quantities without affecting any other processes. This is being extracted and applications looked into.

One of the breaktroughts is the "Radiant" shield technology.

Uses high-energy batteries and superconductive devices within the hull to create a Foucault-current effect, essentially a magnetic field that can immobilize metals, even nonferrous ones. The field is triggered by sensors similar to those in a kinetic barrier. It is powerful enough to protect against most modern weapons, but there are drawbacks,as it itself consume more energy than the usual magnetic shield

Mass Driver breaktought - TITAN cannon.

A mass accelerator propels a solid metal slug using precisely-controlled electromagnetic attraction and repulsion. The slug is designed to squash or shatter on impact, increasing the energy it transfers to the target. If this were not the case, it would simply punch a hole right through, doing minimal damage.

Accelerator design was revolutionized by element eezo. A slug lightened by his field can be accelerated to greater speeds, permitting projectile velocities that were previously unobtainable. If accelerated to a high enough velocity, a simple paint chip can impact with the same destructive force as a nuclear weapon.

However, mass accelerators produce recoil equal to their impact energy. This is mitigated somewhat by the eezo field that rounds are suspended within, but weapon recoil is still the prime limiting factor on slug velocity.
With this new breaktrought,an 200-meter mass-accelerator is capable of accelerating one 20 kg slug to a velocity of 4025 km/s (1.3% of light speed) every two seconds. Each slug has the kinetic energy of 38 kilotons of TNT, enough to destroy the infrastructure of a mid-sized city and kill half a million people.

Because of air friction, planets with atmospheres do not feel a slug's full devastation. Atmospheric drag reduces impact force by 20% per Earth atmosphere of air.

HYDROCOIL CANNON EXPLANATION "Kayzer"

Everyone who wants to leave the habitated planets can do so by using the evacuation ships provided by the government of the EE.

Darkstar CO. has been kind enough to provide the Confederation with some of their new weapons. The capital ships of each fleet will be fitted with RADIANT shields and HYDROCOIL cannons. The dreadnoughts will be fitted with the TITAN cannon.

The 1st Fleet has completed refits; the 2nd Fleet is now beginning its refits.
Shipping 10 BLACKHAWK missiles to Darkstar. Their escort is 15 Omaha frigates, 2 Nike heavy cruisers, 4 Daedalus medium cruisers, and 1 Leonidas scout carrier.

All hostilities between NeoRome and EE will cease, under the condition that EE provides accurate and comprehensive analysis details on the function and specific state of the projectiles shot by the Eclipse Cannon. Schematics for the cannon do not have to be delivered, merely accurate details on the projectile's state and the processes that interact to create them.

NeoRome will provide 2,000,000 Roms in civilian damages from bombardment on various planets and the destruction of the ring world.

The Eclipse Cannon is an energy weapon fireing a psionic energy arc strong enough to become visible.
We will provide you with the blueprints of the fireing mechanism. Since it won´t work with any power source other than chaos emeralds, which you don´t have access to, the blueprints on their own are completely harmless.
Also note that our information may not be accurate, as the original plans have been destroyed in an incident during the "dark times" of the EE. We can only give you the plans we recreated from scanning the device as well as results of test fireings. However, we believe to have all possible data on the projectile, so I think we can provide the information you need.

Production on the Chimera cannon mechanism has completed, a resounding success for which the scientists that drove it will be greatly compensated for. Fleet Divisions are being rotated in and out of the Century shipyards to receive the upgrade; as it is a simple mechanism swap the process takes under an hour for each turret. The 4th Fleet has already received the upgrade and are standing by for operation orders.

A rough prototype of the Cuneiform defensive device has been made, and though it harbors many quirks, none of them threaten the crew of the host vessel as in previous revisions. However, it is still not deemed complete and will not be deployed on any vessels as of this point in time. Production costs and further refinement will probably keep it from getting on most ships until the close of the year. Instead, the Protectorate has deigned to send this to the NeoRome Empire in exchange for their stealth-sensing tech.

Arxin looked up from the papers splayed on his desk to address the junior officer. "Yes?"

"The 4th Fleet has left orbit on a trajectory for the worlds recently given up by the EE to the Striigiforme, under Admiral Ulaz. Sir."

The Marshall paused to recall the identity of the rogue admiral apparent. The only equine to ever attain a post of power in the military, gray furred and prone to acting before thinking.

"This is not a sanctioned maneuver?"

"No, sir." A look of nervousness flashed over the ensign's face and then subsided. "The Directorate demands we reign him in immediately."

Arxin chuckled. "And just how do they expect us to communicate with Ulaz when he's in warpspace?"

"We could at least warn the Striigiforme-"

"No," he waved his wing dismissively, "let's just see how this plays out. It will serve as a nice field test for the new Chimeras, at any rate. Dispatch a scout vessel and have the 2nd Fleet remain on standby, should this go awry."

OOC: ACH, fleet of 54 Excelsiors, 144 Pathos frigates, 6 Sluis Vans, and the Sovereign class Dreadnought Fury to Fire, headed your way to the former EE world you mentioned in your post. I give you permission to control Ulaz and his demands (he's an equine, so guess) but bear in mind the ships in the fleet are all fitted with the new extremely high output Chimera cannons.

||MESSAGE TO: Taln Protectorate||
We have combined the stealth-sensor with a stealth-disruption matrix. These sensors have been consistently tested in the field, and are generally accurate. They work on the fundamental structure of Dark Matter, and use this property against the stealth. Though the matrix can be diminished, it cannot be completely disrupted. It will remain effective to a degree unless Darkstar completely changes the fundamental structure of their cloaking systems, and use different materials.

Phazon has been integrated with surprising results into many weapon and shield systems.

-When integrated with Fusion Coil Splicers, the beam splits into three equally powered segments that operate under different frequencies. Each beam resonates with a different medium, which causes catastrophic damage to that medium. One segment resonances with EM, magnetic, or plasma states used in shield systems, one resonates with dense matter clusters commonly used in hull plating, and one resonates with lighter matter areas used in other sections of ships. One drawback, however, is that the beams do not interact very much with mediums they do not resonate with. Attempts at tuning the beams for our needs are underway.

-Kinetic Orb Cannons gain a energy-seeking ability, and will deviate off of their fired course towards the easiest energy source to reach. This seeking completely ignores all cloaking, disruption, and other efforts to mask energy. The Orb will continually accelerate to reach the energy source, or continually apply a force that increases with decreasing distance. Once it reaches the source, it absorbs alarming amounts of energy until it detonates, releasing all stored energy. It has only been observed in magnetically-operated mechanisms. It will not activate, apparently, unless a magnetic field is used to accelerate it. Unfortunately, this weapon has severe drawbacks. It cannot be mounted on ships with high energy outputs due to the attraction, as it has been seen to completely reverse course in laboratory experiments. Large fleets may also prove to be a problem. Attempts at controlling the power attraction is underway.

-When integrated with standard Magnetically-locked Plasma Shields, the plasma has been observed to produce an EM and Kinetic Barrier while active. These shields constantly shift around the plasma field, making it nigh-impossible to hit the same shield section multiple times. As a consequence, however, there are various dead zones, where no barrier exists. It is difficult to detect these vulnerabilities, but they may prove to be a problem. These shields sections may also overlap, creating specific regions of very strong shield coverage. Attempts to deliberately modify the shield section's shifting is underway.

"Alright, coordinates are as follows, 27-57-34/3-Alpha-Bravo-Bravo-Castle-Hotel-27-Bravo. Good luck if you're going there, that's the secondary retrofit and main resupply grounds for the Navy. Defenses there will tear you up and spit you out. I'd turn back if I were you."

Support fleet sent to the EE now returning:
Turantula 2 to all ships: The Lions have picked up something in the next system don't jump. They're saying its big, about 10 km. Standby while we find a detour.
Bobcat 1 to Turantula 2: I found something, well have to jump through unknown space though.
Lion Scout 4 to Turantula 2: The ship doesn't match any known empire signatures. Wait. its jumping to your system get out of there.

The unknown ship jumps in front of the small support fleet and starts shooting at the battleships.

Turantula 2 to all ships: Scout teams get back here, all other ships attack, but don't launch drones. I want all Echidnas and Bobcats to prepare their jump missiles. Were trying to activate the jump bridge now.

A battleship and few corvettes explode, and Turantula 1 lost communications with the fleet. When the Bobcats brought their forward quad cannons to bear a barrage of small shells are launched at the unknown ship. The Alien ship lit up in an array of small explosions, The Echidnas sent all their anti ship missiles and torpedos at it, while the Lions were doing fly by's with their beam cannons.

Turantula 2 to all ships: Lions get back here the jump bridge is ready.

With a large crack, what was left of the support fleet jumped back into Cavnin space.

"He wants us to what?" Arxin stared at the messenger in disbelief.

"Send the 2nd Fleet to assist in his endeavor-" The tall Tien standing in the doorway started, but Arxin cut him off.

"Wage bloody war on the Striigiforme?"

"With all due respect, sir, we are knowledgeable of how their shields function and could easily bypass them, and with the EE support he's apparently trying to get-"

Arxin snorted. "EE support. So we're supposed to go off on a righteous crusade to save members of a species that were intentionally left behind by their nation, whom we've come this close to going to war with on more than one occasion. How are we supposed to know they won't turn on our ships at the first occasion?"

The messenger straightened. "They'd have little cause to do so."

"No. The Directorate would never approve this, and I'm not sticking my head on the chopping block for some negligent empire. Tell Ulaz he'll have to work with what he's got and however many resources he can get from the EE. Suggest he might perhaps get additional ships from the Cavnin to liberate his kinsmen."

"Commander, wire from border world. Priority Zero."

"Instruct the Barrage Cannon to fire on Mobiu-"

"Commander, it's a rogue Taln fleet. From what we know, equine commander. Headed straight for Cvy II."

"Ah. Get a wire to the Taln Embassy and Taln Command. Tell them there'll be repercussions if they can't reign him in."
