-Message to L. Jahgrin-

We're checking the ship now; and it's in remarkably good condition for something that was destroyed.

Be aware; there is activity near your ill-advised singularity weapon. We're sending a Prowler, but as of yet we've no idea what's happening there.

-M. Korriman
-END-

META: Said Prowler has arrived, and is observing on passive sensors.

- - -
"Commander? I have that trajectory plot for you. Three systems the thing could hit with its current alignment."

Commander Merrin glanced across the smallbridge at his analyst. "Where?" he asked.

"Without a realighment, they could hit P3X-237, New Hope, or Hahnsak. Current alignment suggests -237, but I won't swear to that."

OOC, Hahnsak is likely the target- highly populated (for the Commonwealth), has one of the largest shipyards, and is a militayr staging ground.

-Message to: Markus Korriman-
The Kalvrav was deemed destroyed since the wreck was never recovered, and it is extremely difficult to get any data off NeoRoman technology. It seems we were wrong.

The Singularity Cannon won't survive another firing without a significant cool-down period. We did not authorize any activity, and the systems are not responding. I can scramble the targeting data, however, but if it is firing, I cannot stop it. Scrambling the targeting data could make it hit anything on it's location list. A battle fleet is being sent immediately to nullify it at the same time.
-END-

META: The 10th Battle Fleet is now headed for the Singularity Cannon, after having jumped in. Unfortunately, Telleaya is long gone.

META: The Prowler has begun EWAR attacks, attempting to get an override or shutdown past the firewalls; given there's nobody else in-system, they're running the arrays at full power. Attempting a brute-force attack, in short.

Prometheus is enroute to the facility, expected to arrive very shortly; with luck, her EWAR or weapons can cripple or disable the facility.

Non-meta: Darkstar fleets are being mobilized to watch the borders and do "show the flag" missions to give security to frontier and core worlds.

Meta: Spectres are working on information gathering around the galaxy in general. No faction is aimed directly, agents are just investigating for clues among the civilian populations to see what kind of information the media is giving or minor details about what is the state of the public.
Spoiler:
"Sir?"

"Yes,what is it?" Said the C.E.O ,taking a sip from a cup of tea

" We got a situation. All major factions are activating their fleets. Something is not right."

"Well well...what are the current reports ?"

"Novus being attacked,NeoRome messing everything..." she handled the reports over to the man standing at the window

"Not good...well,send messages across our systems to be on guard. Power all planetary defense systems partially. Activate our fleets and mantain constant patrol of our borders. Our operatives are working on this.

"Yes sir, also we got a report on that project"

"Ohhhhhh any promising results?"

"Yes. The use of the special compound shows...interesting results"

"Very well then, carry on i guess! I love to use military things like that."
" We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek after knowledge, and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religous bias... and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the

And as for the Strigiforme thing, you discovered how to get past the Singularity Cannon's defenses and, as part of your deal with Telleaya and the Imperium, gave them the instructions to operate it. I could be mistaken however.
You are. The Strigiforme kidnapped him from the hospital ship and took him to a facility where they rallied the Imperium fleets, which then attacked and were raped by Strig fleets. The Strigiforme then ransomed him off to you guys in exchange for a non-alignment treaty with the MQR. The Strigforme would never willingly hand over an ultra powered super weapon to some random guy; it would be like giving a terrorist cell a nuke.

Space distorted, and Prometheus jumped in. Bringing her EWAR systems onlibe, she joined her stealthier bretheren's assault, conventional weapons locking targets.

As the continuing electronic attack was thoroughly rebuffed, the battlecarrier began firing; blue-white bolts of ion weapons tore across space, adding massive amounts of excess energy to the station.

OOC, ion-bolt weapons overload systems, so with lunk, the singularity cannon blows itself up or just overloads and stops. Note they're hitting targeting and charging systems, so either it's aim will (hopefully) be off or the thing will make a preety explosion.

The station was in the middle of preparing the subspace portal, the singularity already created, when the ion weapons hit.

The already overloaded station began to violently pulse a very dark red, and the space around it distorted. Power arced around it, connecting to both it and the Novan ships. The front of the cannon, the massive rotating barrel, began to disintegrate as a massive subspace vortex opened and dragged the station into it; it was simply too big to survive passage. Containment systems failed and the singularity ripped through the hull and into the vortex. The arcing of power, now emanating from the vortex itself, latched onto the Novan ships and dragged them through the vortex as the station was shredded, but the ships remained intact. The 10th Battle Fleet jumped in almost on top of the installation, somewhat erronously, and those ships were too dragged through the portal.

-MQR Industrial world-

Captain Arrow was not happy at all. After jumping through hoops to get this shipment here intact, he arrived at the trade port only to be turned away. National security reasons, they said, your ship is not MQR, they said. You can't dock due to DEFCON 3, they said. What a load of bullshit. He flipped a few switches in the cockpit and prepared to activate the subspace drive. The computer beeped at him. He looked at the computer in confusion. "EXTREME SUBSPACE FLUCTUATIONS DETECTED". The hell did that mean?

He soon found out. The ship shook and was sent tumbling as a massive vortex appeared out of thin air in front of him. He cancelled his movement towards it and stabilized the ship to see all sorts of crap pouring out of it. Debris, debris, with power arcing off of it like some sort of alien artifact. Following the debris was a conglomerate of ships; he recognized them. NeoRoman and Novan. They appeared to be disabled, and they were in a sub-orbital trajectory. Arrow considered helping, but was again stopped short by the computer. "EXTREME GRAVITATIONAL ANOMALY DETECTED." Gravitational anomaly?

He looked back at the portal and saw a perfectly round and black sphere fall out of it. It wasn't stopped by the debris crowding the space in front of it, it seemed to just go through it without issue, nay, it was sucking it in.

Arrow decided it was a good time to leave now. He wanted nothing to do with black objects that have lots of gravity or weird portals or anything. He turned the ship around and began leaving orbit.

OOC: Correction to the story, since I can't edit my post for some reason. Telleaya stole the instructions for operating the cannon the same way she got a hold of NeoRoman ships; a fatal system vulnerability. She used this to gain access to secure files remotely and now has (had) control.

Fatal system vulnerability you ask? Let me explain;

All NeoRoman ships are networked. As in, they each have an internal network system that is connected to the Update Hub via Quantum Bit transmissions. The Update hub is basically a massive data core housed in an undisclosed location. Since most NR tech is electronically controlled and formed, nearly every aspect of a device's function can be modified through software updating; the workaround for the Imperium's disabling missiles was one such update. Scientists around NeoRome push out updates to the hub almost constantly, and these are in turn downloaded by the ships for whom the update applies, and this either patches system vulnerabilities, introduces new configurations, or enhances functionality.

Ships can also download different profiles for their devices and alter their functionality completely. For example, if a shielding system is not effective against a certain weapon, the ship can download a patch that drastically increases the defense against that weapon, at the cost of some functionality (I.E specializing the shield against certain weapons reduces all-around effectiveness).

So what's this system vulnerability? Well, normally the network is protected by a small-scale, isolated AI unit, which constantly protects against electronic attacks and attempts at gaining entry into the network system. But in the Imperium war, these AI's were fried by the disabling missiles, unlike the rest of the systems, which were merely disabled. Since the firewalls and electronic warfare suites were operated exclusively by the AI, it led to a issue where the system would accept any command that came from the AI's data connection. Since this issue had never been encountered before, it is present in every NeoRoman ship, installation, government building, military base, everything that uses these AI's. Though physical access to the system is necessary to exploit it, it still remains a relatively hidden exploit; physically removing the AI is very difficult and time consuming, and very few have captured a functional NeoRoman ship.

The system is also designed to detect tampering to the systems through periodic sweeps by comparing the versions present in the Update Hub and that of the actual ship; software that deviates from the hub's version is immediately deleted and replaced once detected. On larger ships and installations, these sweeps can take upwards of 10 minutes to complete. The hub is therefore as much as a protection measure as it is an actual enhancement measure. Note that the hub cannot be accessed and modified from ships; ships can only download from it. Modification of the hub's files is restricted to one of the highest security clearances, with multiple AI routines, security measures, and redundant systems designed to prevent tampering and malicious software, and multiple backup installations exist, all also in confidential locations, to keep the updates present and running in the event that one is destroyed. The hub is the closest guarded secret in NeoRoman history; nobody outside of the High Council and the Hierarch knows about it. Even the scientists constantly updating it know little; their job is to provide the updates and upload it for the council's review. They are not aware that the hub exists. Even the staff that guard or work in hub installations know nothing; these installations are bundled with others to hide their true purpose. One of the backup locations, for example, is a Fusion Coil Splicer production facility, built entirely to disguise the hub.

Telleaya didn't get access to the hub or even discern it's existence. But her operatives- specifically, the three that aren't DNA verified by NeoRome- managed to infiltrate one of the government installations, posing as a maintenance team. They removed the AI core and inserted a small program that would grab and download high-security data files to a small data drive. They reinserted the AI as the system finished a scanning sweep, and the program initiated. Since the data necessary to operate the Singularity Cannon was a large file, they were only able to grab that- and the military report- before the system deleted their program and they were forced to leave, since their maintenance window was over.

Their infiltration was so secret and effective that nobody discovered it. Of course, the system notified the officers that the program was found and deleted, but they didn't really pay it any mind.

THAT, gentlemen and ladies, is the closest guarded secret NeoRome has ever held. And how it is fatally flawed.

With lightning reflexes on the helm, Prothmetheus escaped - barely. The vortex threw her plotted course to the winds, tossing the ship out into deep space - where it would remain for now; the pulse had wrecked her FTL drives.

The Prowler was not so lucky; it could barely begin to plot a jump before it was dragged in, the vortex claiming it with a small burst of radiation.

- - -
"What the HELL was that?!" exclaimed 2nd Lieutenant Harriman, staring in disbelief at her sensor board. A massive subspace pulse, followed by a hugely amplified jump-flash - from NeoRoman space, no less.

Whirling to her subordinate, she pointed. "Get the logs for this and all other current reports to Fleet HQ, now. Right bloody now." the woman said, shaking slightly. There was no way this would be good.

OOC, sorry for contstantly pulling my battlecarriers out of danger zones, but I've developed a sentimental attachment to them. Plus, they are crewed by the best officers available.

That, and the BC was several thousand klicks away from the station, and had time to react; the Prolwer, not so much.

Installation 21 - Bringing You The Facts
As you probably know, our ratings have dropped over 50% in the last few months due to our competitor, Station 21. I'd just like to give thanks to all our loyal viewers, and to do that I'm brining you the biggest scoop since their damned story on that Hexalani Uber-Dread, we not only have verifying evidence of it and Fleet 00's existence, but also the very proving captures.
[FILE TRANSFER - Red_Pine_Station.hof]
This is Red Pine Station, the extremely defended and highly classified R&D station for Hexalan, or at least, how the government would like you to see it. This image is stock off of the official Hexalan Naval Operations Force outranet page. And here-
[FILE TRANSFER - REAL_Pine_Station.hof]
-is what it really looks like, this frame was taken from a live broadcast of a test of a long-range telescope. As you can see, it appears the same for the most part, however, if you take a nice hard look right of it, we see a very large docking apparatus. Now, for reference, here's an image of the Songful Heartwriter from its stay at the orbital station.
[FILE TRANSFER - Heartwriter_at_port.hof]
Now, I'd like you to take a look at Red Pine as it was just a week ago. This was reconstructed from passive DRADIS pulses.
[FILE TRANSFER - Heartwriter_at_Red_Pine.hof]
As you can see, that apparatus sure was useful docking up their brand new super dread, as well as... oh look at their names, ships belonging to Fleet 00. And, as an offer of good faith, we're sending copies of this data to S21, see what they can make of it. Now I leave you, with "the latest and hottest mixes" from Misch Hund.

Research: 83%
Corona reoutfit: 100%

The Corona has been reoutfitted. It's armour has been upgraded to M-X-2 instead of our standard titanium alloy. The AI's fleet has been asked to stay inside the bounds of Alpha leonis system, in order to remain secret. A group of frigates are patrolling the outskirts of the system, in order to deter interference from any nearby factions.
Due to being a special case, the Lux will not be reoutfitted with M-X-2. ALIII, ALIV, and ALVI have been colonised, in addition to ALV.

The construction of planetary defenses is a must.
Engineers worked fast to produce viable defenses :
Spoiler:
Image
Image

Name: Stinger
Class: Planetary Defense

Systems: HERA Target System [A simple and cheap targetting system, yet very effective]

The Stinger is a simple defense system. Composed of a small underground chamber and a missile tube,it is created to shoot down enemy shuttles and give support to fleets battling nearby. It can be operated in 3 ways. One,an VI will act as automatic defense against invaders. Two,one person can operate it from inside : The Stinger can support a crew of 2 persons, with adequate bunks and a small storage system with food for 2 months . and Three, the usage of the ECHELON plataform, with a operator using the Stinger by remote control.

The Stinger uses ground-to-air nanite missiles, fabricated on-site with a nano-builder. While they lack in firepower, they are easily made, granting an steady supply of firepower.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Military is being mobilized on Darkstar systems. Patrol missions are frequent and planetary defenses are being built.

As the collapsing station entered the system, a year-old response mechanism activated.
It had been installed as an early stage of an old project by the EIN that had been postponed and renamed several times, its function being to keep any and all singularities with a mass up to that of a major part of a superpower's forces from getting the planet into their event horizon. The system consisted of gravity projectors on large sattelites in orbit around the planet which were programmed to activate as soon as a singularity appears.
they also sent an alarm to the headquarters of the EIN.

//EIN HQ//
O4-IK: WHAT IN THE NAME OF AURORA IS GOING ON?
???: Sir, it seems the counter-singularity system at Resum has been activated.
O4-IK: WHAT? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
???: I have no idea.
O4-IK: notify Novus and the SGM that we have a singularity there and that our automatic systems are already keeping it at distance form the planet. If all goes well, it should disintegrate rather soon.
