The Virus
On the battleship:
Ship Pilot:What the hell just happend here. From my point of view you decide to throw a missile at our shuttle and possibly kill whoever is inside. Give me one good reason not to blast you into dus...
Co-Pilot: My apologies, the captain has a bit of paranoia. Any how, could you please explain what went on, we know that everyone is alive but I still want you to tell me why you decided to attack our researcher. I will keep all weapons locked on the base until you tell us what happend, you have ten seconds until we fire.
Base: The frigate that attacked, that was the work of the virus, we are sending teams to recover any downed shuttles. And i'm not sure if you noticed but the frigate attacked us too!
Co-Pilot: Again, I apologize, we were just confused; if you like, we can stick around for a few days, but we'll transmit home that you may want some more fighters or other craft to guard the facility, is that ok?
At the crash site:
Kayntor: Well... that was fun.
Pilot: If thats your idea of fun. Hope they find us soon this place is cold, I'll send up a flare. (fires flare)
Kayntor: Now we just wait... hey I have a deck of cards, want to play Groons?
Pilot: (She gave him an odd look but soon said) I don't see why not.

"A Narok class. A scientific mission and they send me in a Narok class?" 'Nakar asked the bridge crew of the destroyer, wondering at the government's choice of transport.
"Well, it's been mostly deweaponized. Externally at least. Brand new Karesh-Ka hyperslip, though. Fastest ship in the Fleet, maybe the fastest in the entire quadrant." Replied the human CO of the ship.
"A whisp would have done fine, the matter's not that urgent."
"Diplomatic councils disagree, apparently. If this... virus--"
"You don't have the security clearance to know about that, captain."
"I was informed by the Council itself. This ship has the most advanced electronic countermeasures available and a modified DarkStar stealth system."
"Why do you need all that for a simple transport mission?" Inquired 'Nakar.
"We have orders to stay in-system for as long as possible after the drop off. Monitor for any possible... threats posed by the virus." The captain explained.
"Or any other possible danger?" Nakar interrogated further.
"The security risk level has been high recently. Government paranoia tends to rise with it. We'll just stay stealthed for a few passes, pick up whatever we can on sensors, and leave. I've been instructed to not intervene unless absolutely necessary." The captain said.
"Very well, I would have liked to know about this operation sooner, what is done is done. How much longer, navigator?" Nakar said, turning to the pilot.
"We're idling in the Slip, capacitors charged for a jump to realspace at any time." The navigator replied.
"Good, even quicker than I expected." The captain said.
"Sir, there seems to be a slight disturbance in realspace. Could be an asteroid collision, possibly ballistic weapon discharge." Said the navigator.
"Which is it? How close is it to the station?" Asked the captain.
"Difficult to tell with such low energies. It appears to be directly on the station." Answered the navigator.
"Make the jump, take us in dark. If there's a skirmish happening, we don't need to have any part in it."

Jacob was resting in his room the long travel in space made him tired. Suddenly the ground shook as he heard explosions nearby. Second later Sergeant Harper ran into the room "Sir this facility is under attack ! We are escorting you out of here to safety, follow us !". The marines quickly pulled Jacob and they ran out of the living quarters. "Where are we going ? " "I don't know where's the bunkers in this damn thing !" "I don't know there's nothing on the facility map !" "So where's the safest place in here ?" they all looked at the map and the structure "Back to the living quarters !" said Sergeant Harper and they began to run back to the doctor's room. "Find somewhere to hide I case something gets through" commanded Harper when one of the marines looked out of the window at a volley of incoming missiles "Roger but there won't be anywhere to hide in 30 seconds !" <REFS ! Cambles irritably snapped on his mic. "CW Two Seven standing by."
He flipped sensors to long-range and studied the area around his ship.

Re: The Virus
Just as Hope had finished unloading her stuff, she felt the station shake.
Due to her military experience, she knew there was only one thing that could shake a station that size that powerful: An attack.
After she managed to get up, which took some time, as the shake caused her to bump her head against the wall quite heavily, she grabbed her communicator and sent a distress signal to the EE ship that brought her shuttle to the station and was ordered to stay just outside the system in case of trouble.
The EES Lightning, a Typhoon-class Escort Carrier jumped towards the station immediately and expanded its shield to protect the station in addition to its own shielding.

Re: The Virus
The ESS Lightning realized the station could defend itself after a quick scan and while sending 2 shuttles with repair drones to the station, the ship itself engaged the Halifax, charging its Wave Motion Gun.

Re: The Virus
The Halifax, downed but not out, rose back out of the ice as the engines kicked on again. Immediately, the surrounding fighters began launching missiles at it, but to no avail. The Virus had overrode the defense systems and picked them off with ease. It launched another salvo of missiles, stopped by the shield easily. Deciding on a best course of action, it decided to detonate itself on the shield to cause maximum damage. As it turned towards it, a large beam pierced through the bow of the ship. The reactor overloaded with electronic energy and exploded, obliterating the entire vessel and scattering the remains all over the ice.
Re: The Virus
The modified Narok-class pulled itself into space and maneuvered into a high orbit. The navigator's copilot focused an optical sensor array on the frozen planet below as Nakar and the captain steadied themselves against the command pedestal. The human tapped a console and an image of the station and surrounding area appeared over the main holopad. The facility was damaged, a small, smoking rip in the external wall stood out against white. The camera drifter toward the wreckage of the Halifax and the crater created by the reactor destabilization.
"So it was an attack." The captain stated, sporting an inquisitive expression.
"What could have happened?" Said Nakar, stepping toward the floating image.
"There are several other ships near the station, mostly smaller vessels, one EE cruiser." The navigator informed his comrades and the scientist.
"Residual radiation matches EE Wave cannon." The copilot added.
"Put us on alert, position us over the cruiser, and ready slip merge weaponry." The captain said to the navigator.
"Don't do anything rash, captain. The last thing we need is enmity." Nakar warned.
"Keep us dark and send a point beam communication to the surface station. Don't fire until we have confirmation." Ordered the captain.
The navigator complied and moved the ship over the cruiser.

Re: The Virus
Markus noticed the communication request and pushed the operator aside before he could answer it.
"This is lead researcher Markus," He stated.
"What the hell is going on down there?" Squawked the pilot. "We registered an attack and we have one destroyed frigate." Markus ran a hand through his hair and sighed.
"The wreck is of the Halifax, a NeoRoman frigate. The Virus took control of it, bypassing nearly every security measure in place." Sensors indicated less energy output.
"God *, we thought it was an enemy attack. Keep that thing under control, you hear?"
"We will try." Markus signed off. He sat down in a nearby chair and looked out the control tower. It wasn't before long that another report came in. Three landing bays had been cleared of debris and were ready to accept craft. The operator opened up a comm channel.
"CW Two Seven, do you copy?" He asked.
"This is Two Seven, I read you," replied the vessel.
"Landing Pad G is available, you have been cleared to land there. Target coordinates uploaded now."
"About time. CW Two Seven out." The channel faded, and the operator opened up another.
"This is Kalii II to Herring, do you copy?"
"Reading loud and clear," replied the pilot. "Any landing pads?"
"Landing Pad J is open. Mind you, we were just attacked, so there may be heightened security."
"We saw that. Coming in for a landing." The next channel clicked off.
And another report came in. The rescue team had reached the downed shuttle and extracted the crew, including Kayntor, all unharmed. Good. Markus abruptly stood up. "Tell the rescue team to divert their course and recover any wreckage from the destroyed Halifax, especially electronics. We will need the data from it to study the virus." The operator sighed, punched in a few characters, then sent the order to the team. Markus thought for a second. "Send this to NeoRoman command. We want all vessels to be upgraded with comprehensive, advanced electronic countermeasures for the virus." Sent.
But never arrived.

Re: The Virus
The EES Lightning began sending on a military frequence, using a code for public communication known by basically any government that owns FTL-capable vessels.
Then, the ship sent another message, directed to the station, but cutting the connection right after the message was sent. The research station ALPHA got attacked by a rogue NeoRome missile frigate.
The EE believes it was under control of the Virus.
Extreme caution is advised when opening digital communication with the station to prevent infection.
The situation has been resolved, the frigate destroyed.
The Eggman Empire also wants to make sure similar problems don´t occur again and thus will send in a standard battlegroup of 1 Sawfish-class Battleships and 5 Mako-class Corvettes to help protect the station.
It is advised not to blame any faction for the incident. We need to work together and the Virus might become a faction-sized threat on its own, considering how it completely took control of that ship.
EES Lightning here. That ship atacking you has been destroyed. Further ships are on the way to prevent a repeat of events.
This will be our last digital message to this station and we will cut this connection right after the message is sent.
For further information, please use an analogous way of data transmition. Also, we configured our analogous channels to cut connection as soon as there is an audio-digital message (OOC: The kind of beeping you get when you accidently phone a fax unit) to prevent infection through these methods.
Please inform us on the state of the people on the station. If there are more wounded than you can handle, we are happy to send you a medical team and/or let you use our medbay.

Kayntor: Information is good, I'll see what I can do.
Rescue Team: So what do you specialize in Doc.?
Kayntor: Oh, just call me Kayntor, anyhow, I work in neuroscience and the studies of the brain, or whatever controls a creatures actions and thoughts.
Rescue Team: Well hopefully that skill will help us in understanding the viruses actions and intentions.
Kayntor: I think it will, the "brain" is one of the most difficult to understand and to work with organs, deciphering actions intentions and even morals isn't for the impatient it requires a lot of time to both test and identify the results. And it takes years of study, I'm not sure if humans can even live long enough to study such a thing sometimes they can be so narrow minded.
