OOC: The Credit used by the UGC was only recently introduced and created for the purpose of establishing a hard currency for the UGC.
So, no, the UGC-credit was not affected by recent events because it's not old enough. But considering a large portion of the economy lies within its users, it propably already established itself as a pan-galactically used hard currency.

C-Bills are the standard currency in the Commonwealth, with only a few outside currencies coming in (1 C-Bill comes to ~2.12 G.C.). Mostly, it's UGC (as the NC still trades off and on with the MR), but increasingly more K'lii and (AUF currency) are showing up too.

Estimated equivalencies:

C-Bill: 2.1 G.C.
[AUF CREDIT ]: 2.5 G.C.
K'lii: .00025 G.C. (IIRC K'lii work like Yen, closer to cents than dollars)
[UGC CREDIT]: 2 G.C.

These are just guesses, though.

The Empire used the Galactic Credit, not the UGC Credit.
But, the UGC and SDI don't use Galactic Credits, so the only places their leaving would economically affect are the NPC mininations that use GCs.

I think that due to the close ties between UGC nations, and the headcanon UGC free trade zone, the shock would quickly transfer. As for the magnitude, it's like if India and France or some other 2nd Tier nation just disappeared.

Besides, we'd really stopped doing any sort of trading for the last some time. If there were to be any serious economic impact, it would've started then. As for why, when you're socialist like us, your population doesn't tend to involve themselves in foreign markets on their own.

And also, Hexalan Corp is still a thing. Sure they've lost just about all of their physical assets, but they still have their stockpile of credits, which also happened to be Hexalan's stockpile of credits. And, now that I think about it, Hexalan was very isolationist on the economic front, so really, it's more like just one major power dropping out.
