[meta]With their psionics-heavy early warning system effectively running on backups, the MR is rushing to replace the primary systems, as the backups only offer inaccurate readings as a side effect of their more robust nature. This is being kept secret, but the drastically increased production in psionic equipment factories plus methods like simply watching the routes of transport ships would allow any nation that employs spies and/or (psionically!) cloaked intelligence ships in the MR in sufficient numbers would be able to find out that they were replacing all their long-range sensors in quite a hurry, suggesting they have either broken or the MR has developed a very important upgrade and wants to deploy it ASAP.[/meta]

[meta]The MR diplomat at Cuuyth has, due to the extremely high number of SDI psi-ops in the area, established a psionic fedback system with the equipment he brought along: If a psionic would try to read his mind, the system would feed them back false information with very little chance of detection by psionics who are not trained to work around such methods. (aka the Strig psionics have very little chance of getting correct intel from the diplomat. the system is also calibrated that if various psionics try to find the same information, they are fed the same counterfeit intel)
If a psionic was to try and mind-control the diplomat, they would achieve such control, except the "mind-controlled" individual is aware of it, maintaining a clear conciousness beneath the mind-controlled body and can snap out of it at will.
It also monitors psionic activity in the immediate vicinity, allowing him to know whether the person he's talking to is, say, being mind controlled.
The MR psi-ops are equipped with simple psionic shields, effectively making it near-impossible to actually psionically influence him, while allowing him to conduct psionic actions himself.[/meta]

OOC: Just to note, infiltrating the AUF now, especially in high-security research facilities such as where the psionic equipment is being developed, is extremely difficult. The AUF is basically a police state. Every single citizen is tracked by massive AI installations 24/7, every citizen has been implanted with identifying chips and computers that track their location, access is strictly controlled to everything. Cameras and sensors everywhere, extensive communication as to where ships are going, where they are allowed to be, and a shoot-on-sight policy for intruders.

Why haven't you heard of this? It's suppressed. Information to the public is heavily suppressed on a "need to know" basis. Nothing gets out of the AUF channels except for the big stuff, the big changes. Using this, crime has effectively been completely and effectively nullified. But at the same time, agents will have extreme difficulty in extracting information since everything is carefully and meticulously tracked.

Example 1: Agent A has clearance for Level C Power Facilities and normally works on Level E Power Facilities, primarily repairing the power core. On a particular day, he accesses a Level C Power Facility for scheduled maintenance and is seen on camera as entering the control room, only for a minute or so. Agent A is apprehended, interrogated (psionically too of course), then executed and quickly replaced by another worker.

Example 2: Agent B is a freighter pilot, and is tasked by another nation to smuggle experimental tech out of the AUF. 500 crates of experimental data cores are loaded in his cargo bay. A (planned) malfunction occurs in the FTL drive and Agent B communicates to the receiving laboratory that the FTL drive has malfunctioned and the shipment will be delayed. He also sends the data concerning the malfunction, which happens to be a drive data core malfunction. The laboratory acknowledges the delay. A container of spare parts is unloaded, and one of the spares is taken out. It is discreetly switched with one of the experimental data cores, and they are functionally and visually indistinguishable without a detailed laboratory analysis. Agent B resets the indicator on the opened crate, which has switched to indicate that the crate has been opened, and resets the timer to show that the crate was last opened when it was loaded. The experimental core is loaded into the ship's power core, and the ship continues on it's way on schedule. At the laboratory, it is noticed that one crate's seed, a random generation seed for determining the crate's state, is different than the one reported by the shipper by a value of 1.871E-10, indicating a very slight difference in the generation function self-contained in the locking mechanism. The entire crew of the freighter is apprehended and interrogated immediately. After several weeks, the 8 likeliest culprits- mechanics, technicians, and the pilot, are executed and replaced. The rest are placed back on the ship with increased security.

Such is life in Soviet Russia the AUF.

As for Fen on spies, most Strigiforme spies in other nations are either average citizens who secretly report things, or low to mid level military and civilian officers, and most of those are known to the home nation. As for why the ones who are known are not executed, it's pretty simple; you have control of what they report back, and can control what the Strig know about your plans, and you can also use them to find more. Even so, most Strigiforme spies don't even know they're Strigiforme spies. They're recruited by a "Novan" or a "Mobian" or a "Tajer", and simply give short reports every so often, usually things like public opinion, recruitment levels, how happy are people, ect.

[meta]In order to keep up with security standards across the galaxy, the MR is installing psionic scanners at all starports. They scan for lies when passengers are routinely asked for their intent (as a very simple and admittedly weak check whether they actually remember the one they wrote down, to stop people from illegally immigrating), and subjects who lie are either going to be selected for "random" additional screening or watched by the MR secret service, which will look for suspicious behavior. Further such inconspicuous security systems are being evaluated.[/meta]

The Strigiforme have begun experiencing slight anomalies in the Yttrium gates to the Triangulum, Pegasus, and Andromeda Galaxies. Additional ships are being dispatched to these galaxies to protect the increased flood of Strigiforme immigrants.

Constant shipments will be sent along with heavily armed escorts. We advise you not install the cores with psionically powered ships as the cores don't understand psionics or the effects that they might inflict on the system.

Blueprints will be sent but understand that these ships are still being extensively tested. So far the only issues that have arisen from them are the crews excessive consumption of food after operating the ships meaning that they are not optimal for long running missions. More and more incredible things are being found about them, for instance one crew was able to replicate their ship including the frequencies, signatures, etc. and make a decoy that appeared just like the original. Most crews are able to literally crush their enemies. The ships are able to crush and mutilate targets provided they don't have appropriate shielding. Since they are able to grab fighters out of the dark skies this makes them highly effective against small groups of strike craft. However like every ship in the galaxy, they are easily overwhelmed by large amounts of small craft. But expect a few battle ready ships soon.
