Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Right, sorry for not following this much lately, I've been both busy and lazy.
BIC:
Grand Admiral Toma entered the demonstration room, where a group of labcoat-clad people were standing, some holding clipboards, some holding iTabs, some not sure where to put their hands.
"Right," she said, with her usual stern expression.
"I heard you've finally produced some results within the wormhole projects. Is there anything we can use against the current threat?"
The scientists looked at each other, and finally one of them stepped forward.
"Well, we have managed to greatly increase the efficiency of current generators, as well as actual wormhole drives, which when implemented will revolutionize space travel, so once we've installed it in the fleets-"
"I'd like something that won't put my ships in the drydocks for weeks, please," Toma cut him off.
The scientist adjusted his glasses.
"Right, well, I think you'd like to have a look at this, then."
He tapped his iTab, and a holoprojector in the roof lit up and projected holographic schematics in the middle of the room.
"This first project is something I'm sure you'll like, ready to ship out to the troops instantly. It's based on some old Dictatorship-era technology, we found blueprints for it in some old, classified archives, all with the Empress' permission of course. We had to redesign it almost completely to make it safe to use, though."
The admiral sighed.
"Get to the point already."
"Ah, right, yes, it's a weapon accessory, different variants so it can be used with most weapons. It greatly increases the range of weapons and allows shooting around corners and through walls, by creating a temporary short-range wormhole. It can also be linked up to the neural interface of the soldiers' helmets or the central processor of androids for efficient use."
Grand Admiral Priya Toma looked content. The scientists knew that this was a big achievement.
"You got anything else? Anything that might help us take on the actual arks?"
"Well, we have increased the efficiency of wormhole bombs, and we're planning some work based on Jade's spacetime distortion device."
"The new wormhole bombs, are they safe to use?"
The scientist adjusted his glasses again.
"Uhm.. that is a very relative question when it comes to this kind of weaponry. But I guess it's as safe as the current versions."
Toma was quiet for a slight moment, then spoke again.
"I suppose that will have to be enough. If you know it works better than the old model, tell the factories to start producing the new one."

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
"We got that clearance yet?" Lord of Admirals Scratchovski stood before the large window of her home.
"Yes."
"So when can I expect them done?"
"Very quite soon, sir."
"Excellent."
"Oh, and uh, sir, Grand Admiral Toma of the Zuguthain Armed Forces will be here to see you shortly."
[meta]Production of 35 more manufactorums in WLM has commenced. With the already capable production facilities, they will take a considerably lesser amount of time to produce, about next month, as the current Fleet still needs to be done.[/meta]

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
NeoRoman and Novan forces have cleared a landing zone; frigate-size dropships and landing craft may descend. A Prowler has dropped several teams of CNI SPECWAR operatives at various points on the station.
The Delta Extigens system has been organized, and defenses are in place. Three shipyards have been consolidated, with the new single banner of Andromeda Shipyards. An extragalactic expedition is still being assembled.

"What's our status?" Admiral-Captain Tulea shouted across the bridge as he manned one of the numerous consoles.
"Shields are at 30% and dropping, minor hull fractures. Heavy casualties, still over 1k ARK ships remaining." Through the large observation screen, the Heartwriter was visible, or rather, the very much banged up fore was, the aft having already drifted away. On the opposite side was a large flash of fiery blue light as another vessel was claimed by the enemy.
"I'm calling in Gajerin!"
= Hexalani Dreadnought Desperation in Vain =
"Sir, incoming message from Fleet 12."
"Put it through." The static-y recording, audio only, played into the Admiral's ear. "Navigation, get us there at once."
"Aye sir."

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
OOC: Fenway is those two arks kill or borked off?
[Milkyway-Draco gate]
"Sir, The Draco gate activated detonation protocols!" Said the unimportant redshirt as the escape pod from the other gate flew through. To prevent backlash the gate was immediately shut down to stop energy from transversing through. The commander responded "Tell Navcom Draco is DiW, and hope those navy boys survive".
OOC: Gate still works for going between the galaxies, just until a stabilizer gate is built on the other side only moderate cruisers will be able to fit through.
-------
Titan resources are being redirected towards a new gateship.
Factory production is being directed towards fleet production to replace expected heavy losses.
-------
[Draco warfleet]
The missile ships spewed forth a wall of missiles towards the ARK fleet while artillery ships added in their fire.
As the ships entered engagement range battleships moved up to shield the cruisers, a peculiar abnormality was picked up by sensors and verified by gunner banks.
"Admiral, half these ships are lacking shields or part of their weapon banks, Comparative scans also show these ships as positively archaic compared to MR reports". The admiral nodded at this information, the enemy fleet was falling apart and hardly combat worthy which changed their survival ratios to a much more preferable outcome atleast until the stations came into play.
OOC: everything less then a battleship with shields on the frontside is probably dead assuming the battleship>cruiser ratio is fairly standard.
--------
[Message to the NCSD]
We beg of your assistance at the earliest possible time available from the core battle, our Draco colonies are under attack from several ARK stations and we are holding out direly.
[Message end]
[Message to the Commonwealth]
Recent reports state you have a lack of civilian colonies in the milky way galaxy, we assume this means you would like to terminate our trading agreement?
[Message end]

[meta]Added to TTI's numerous projects has been RemoTek, with the goals of downsizing the currently very bulky command system to that of an impanted neural chip. The current committee for ReomTek is thrice the size of the original Section 3 cell.
Recently, there has been a breakthrough regarding Darkstar stealth generators, allowing them to be fully integrated into Empirical systems, rather than requiring a Darkstar ship or a portion of one.[/meta]
A quick succession of lights followed the arrival of the Gajerin. Immediately, the few MACs that there were fired off, followed by Phoenix Cannons, the majority being direct hits via the synergy of the quantum and psionic AIs (one of each present on the cruisers, the same for the nonexistant capital ships). Many already began taking hits, hits similar to the single hits many of the hulks beside them had taken, most shields held, the Hexalani vessels taking irrelevant hull damage. Already, a portion of the ARK frigates had sustained serious damage as they began to be bombarded with wormhole T/S bombs (an enlarged tachyon subspace warhead mounted on an HE MAC round deployed right on top of the enemy at a percentage of lightspeed) from the bomber-type frigates.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
The fleet around D-ARK and it's little siblings has taken losses, but is still holding; ground forces are now landing and engaging in earnest on the last ARK.
AI and QI cyberwarfare attacks have shown limited success; the ECM and EWar ships have had far more effect.
The Novan systems in Andromeda are being enhanced for civilian living; the number of colonies and cities built previously - but not fully occupied - is proving to be a boon here. The nation now encompasses sixteen systems, and 9 habitable worlds. Andromeda Shipyard has begun work on a number of upgraded ships.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
The scientist who accepted the offer of Suul, to show the Satoshi, came just a few seconds after she teleported away. "Is everything all right?"
It took Icho a few seconds to realize what just happened. Suul was already trying to figure out what could have caused it. "Nobody leaves this room!" He said quite intensely.
Icho looked at the scientist, who seemed to be pretty surprised too, but he couldn't read him, so Icho categorized him as suspicious.
It took a 2 minutes, until the mess hall was transformed into a command centre. Suul was talking with the scientist, while the first sensor analysis took place. "We were able to see the beginning of the teleportation, but we did not see where it ended." Luma, the science officer of the bridge, showed a recording of the mess hall, when the incident happened. "However it is no surprise, that we didn't find the exit, as there are multiple locations on the ship, where the sensors are not able to notice it."
Icho had a horrible headache and growled: "Then send teams there, which get a better picture." "We have already sent some teams to the locations, at least the ones which we can reach."
Suul was done with the interrogation of Mr. Urist. He was sure, that the scientist didn't have anything to do with the disappearance of Roa. Charles Urist even turned off the psionic device, which allowed him to be unreadable.
So Suul began to find a reason for the spontaneous reaction of Roa. At first they analyzed the sensor data, in search for any radiation, then gases in the air and at last psionic reasons. It was Suul who finally found something useful: "We have looked through a lot of possibilities, regarding the teleportation of Roa. But there is something I completel forgot about" "What?" "She teleported right when I wanted to talk to her, maybe it's because I made mental contact." Icho looked at Suul in disbelief. It didn't make any sense to him. "If you talk to me, I don't have any problems. But I mean we could test it, you could talk to Jor over there, if he does something very spontaneous, we know it." Suul turned towards the Gurrad, who was currently eating something. As he wanted to say something, a fork flew through the room, driven by telekinesis. The Gurrad seemed very surprised, by what just happened. "See." said Suul.
They didn't lose time to inform everybody who was searching for Roa, that they were not allowed to communicate with her.
Then they began to search reasons, why mental contact resulted in such reactions. "Icho, you told me, that you have a headache, since when do you have it?" "Since the interview today." "That would explain why Roa is affected, but what about Jor, he wasn't at the interview." Suddenly both of them looked at Charles Urist, who seemed to understand right away. "I can assure you I really don't have anything to do with it!" he said. Icho agreed: "Some Gurrads had contact with his kind and they do not report any headaches." Then it struck him like a lightning:" But we were in contact with the psionic equipment, which blocks the mental access to their wearer!" This was reasonable.
"Mr. Urist, would you mind if we would search for Roa, while making the tour through the Satoshi?" Suul asked.
It took Icho a few seconds to realize what just happened. Suul was already trying to figure out what could have caused it. "Nobody leaves this room!" He said quite intensely.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
A Mobian scientist, having sat in the mess hall quietely, observing the happenings until now, went up to Suul.
"I suspect that may be our equipment. We are the only ones around here to routinely use active psionics which could cause anything in anyone but the wearer. I will contact HQ immediately and see if I can get you any information to avoid similar incidents in the future, or even build devices to make you immune to those effects. In the meantime, I will advise my fellow crewmwmbers to turn off their psionically active equipment around you. Oh, and it would propably help everyone if I was allowed to make some scans on one of your psionics. Passive, of course, we don't want such an incident happening again."
