You are correct Fen. I haven't miniaturized the MACs. They're simply short and pitiful. Take a look at it on my ship thread. Or better yet, on the server. Have you seen the ram? It's pretty big.

Fenway can probably win that battle, but the fleets are reasonably closely matched, so he's going to take a lot of casualties.

Maybe, sometimes people don't read it all and then are getting surprised where that plague landed on them from ... You might want to give yourself more points as you didn't reach the limit (35 points) yet and you are dangerously close to the action ...

Military Command: Is the Wasp Nest ready?
Research Facility: Umm, no the attack has set us much farther back then we expected.
Military Command: Well we need it done, we are at war, so test it!
Research Facility: But it's not ready for a test flight.
Military Command: Do it now!!!

A few minutes later the test begins, things go as expected until it's on a collision course with one of the Leopard destroyers, both ships turn off thrusters and try to avoid collision. But to now avail, the Nest collides with the Leopard with the shields down, the Nest explodes, sending shrapnel and drone in every direction. The research facility is damaged as well as several other patrol ships, nothing is beyond repair except for the Nest. This was one of two prototypes, this will set production back by another few months.

Battle:


The convoy moves slowly, stealthily through space. Hiding in plain sight. Carrying some unknown material, the Novum fleet steadily plods toward their goal. But not for long.

A small flash and another fleet jumps in behind them. First looks clearly tell the new fleet is much more advanced than the first. Shields shimmer around them, slowly dispersing as they lose opacity. The first fleet, suddenly aware of the NeoRoman weaponry cycling behind them, begin turning around. But it's too late. Two blood-red beams shoot out from the NeoRoman battleship Myriad. Colliding with one of the Novum's Penetrators, the engine column collapses and the ship explodes.

Commander Jacobs watches the devastation. He switches to the fleet channel. "Concentrate fire on the nearest Onesty." He switches it off and smiles. The Onesty, now almost fully turned, lights up with weapons fire. Several panels slide open on the Onesty, and small autocannons begin firing. The Myriad's shields are speckled with fire. Jacobs checks the shield readings and laughs. Several fighters exit the Onesty and the cruisers behind it as well, but Jacobs merely sets his superior fighters to follow them. They should keep them busy.

"Is that all they've got?"

"Sir, i'm reading multiple-" a sensor reader started.

"Save your breath, we've got this fight."

"But sir, this is crucial-"

"Our technology is far superior! What could go wrong?" At this, Jacobs marched back to the viewscreen. He noticed more panels opening on the Onesty. Before he could react, the ship violently shook. Jacobs barely maintained his footing. "What the hell was that?"

"Sir, we've lost a Destiny! They rammed him! Both ships are down!"

Before he could reply, several massive objects flew out of the Onesty. They smashed into the Myriad's shields, finally breaking them. Almost at once, the ship was torn in half as several MAC rounds smashed through the hull.

The Myriad, crippled, began firing everything they had. The Onesty was picking up speed, and the Ram was incredibly tough. Another panel opened, presumably to weaken the Myriad before the final strike happened. Whatever the reason, it was a mistake; A well aimed beam from the Myriad shot through this opening. A large explosion erupted from the opening, and the Onesty veered off course. For better or worse, another destiny is crushed by the ram. It spirals away another few hundred meters before detonating.

Jacobs picked himself up. "Concentrate fire on the MAC coverings! Don't let them fire again!"

The second Onesty opened up several hatches. Siezing their chance, several Ionic missiles penetrated these openings and unleashed their payloads into the cannons. While not devastating, the Onesty is unable to fire again. It cycles up to ramming speed quickly, and manages two Lambda's down, crushing them against each other. At the same time, two Penetrators each rammed a Destiny. The first, unable to penetrate its shields, collapses upon itself as its superstructure fails. The second manages to smash right through the reactor core. Both ships are consumed in the explosion.

The last Onesty begins turning around for another ramming run. Seeing this beforehand, the third Lambda unloads its MAC at full power into the Onesty's engine block. It crippled the Onesty and demolished the fighter bay, removing any last chance of escape as the hull failures leech oxygen from the ship. Though effective, it placed severe strain on the power core. Several MAC's impacted the ship at this point, and the reactor failed and completely shut off as the ship was torn apart.

The last Penetrator cycles up to ram the final Destiny, but gravely miscalculated its course. It wandered right into the line of fire of the Kalresha Cruisers behind it. It was swiftly torn apart. The Myriad had its shield up and was still firing. It picked off one Kalresha as it opened its hatch. The last Lambda unloads its MAC into the next Kalresha, fitting it nearly perfectly into the Kalresha's MAC as it fires as well. The collision tore the ship's bow apart as a power failure cripples the ship. The last Kalresha, seeing the odds, unloads its final payload and attempts to enter slipspace. The final Destiny loses several decks owing to the MAC round, and the Kalresha begins cycling up. Before escaping, however, the crippled Myriad used what little power it had left to launch a Splicer laser. The Kalresha loses control and shortly explodes as the blood-red beam slices through it. It remains quiet.

The remaining ships begin recounting losses.

TL:DR

NeoRoman Ships:

Myriad x1- Heavily Damaged, Crippled, Unable to warp. Ship is beyond repair.

Lambda x1- Minimal damage. Able to Warp. Repairs minimal.

Lambda x2- Crushed. Completely Destroyed. Little remains- few survivors.

Lambda x1- Ripped apart. Completely Destroyed. Little remains- few survivors.

Destiny x1- Moderate damage to several decks. Warp remains functional. Repairs extensive but possible.

Destiny x2- Crushed by Rams. Completely Destroyed, few survivors.

Destiny x1- Exploded. Completely Destroyed. No survivors


Novum Ships

Onesty x1- Exploded. Completely Destroyed. No survivors.

Onesty x1- Heavy damage, crippled. Beyond repair. Warp Nonfunctional. No survivors due to Life Support Failure

Penetrator x1- Exploded from weapon fire. Completely Destroyed. No survivors.

Penetrator x2- Exploded after ramming. Completely Destroyed. No survivors.

Penetrator x1- Crushed while ramming. Completely Destroyed. No survivors.

Penetrator x1- Ripped apart by friendly fire. Completely Destroyed. No survivors.

Kalresha x3- Destroyed by weapon fire. Completely Destroyed. No Survivors.


NeoRoman Victory, at a heavy cost.

Fenway, I don´t like to tell you how to moderate an RP, but lightspeed apearently made a second application post on page 11 that you completely ignored.
I don´t think that´s fair.

The 3rd Battlegroup of the Homefleet returns to the main base after having checked the entire border of the EE.
SGM Kintobor Sends a public message: "By now, you should be aware of the growing abilities of the Equestrian Coalition.
Anyone who wants to stop fighting us and maybe change sides from the Robotic Coalition is welcome.

"Why?" the Lord of Admirals replied, quizzically.
"Before we lost contact with them, CC-092, an Onesty, informed us several NeoRoman ships warped in behind them."
"Where were they? How many did we lose?"
"They were at Alpha-Deca-2C before comms cut out. It appears total loss, sir."
"See if there's any available squads, I want those ships salvaged. (To sensors officer) See if there're any survivors."
"Scanning now, sir," said the sensors officer.
"GUARDIAN B is available, sir."
"(To comms officer) Send them over. I just hope we didn't lose too many crew."
"It appears there's a few left as well as many wrecks. Should we hail them?"
"No, and have GUARDIAN B check to see if they can get anything out of the NeoRome ships."
"Sir, yes sir."
"Yes sir."
