So supposing error takes the west coast of Canadia, I'll grab the south coast of Alaska as well as Hawaii. This ought to secure the east Pacific basin for us, and enable easy transit between the two areas.
Also, my nation name will be Estovakia. We ought to figure out who we all are.

Proposal for standardized military formations (one unit is one soldier):
Spoiler:
We should also standardize our hardware. We want the best, but, nothing that was developed past 1968. I'd contribute but I'm not familiar with military hardware earlier than the 2500's.
Here's what we need:
Oh god Im getting a strong deja vu right now but I won't say I word or I "might derail a thread" ...

So I take it everyone became experts at this foreign RP overnight while I was sleeping?
That's cool, that's cool, I don't feel left out or anything.
EDIT: Several of my favorite places seem to be available for that RP though, do I have to be south america or can I be oceania?

Going to name mine "Unión de Perú" and placing it in the Peru/Ecuador area.
Focus on Eco/Mil
On the common equipment thing Vinyl proposed:
Spoiler:
Body Armor: Fat chance, flak west is the best body armor they had in the 60s
Assault Rifles: our choices are besically limited to AK-47, M-16 (pls no we're in a tropical climate they'll just jam and do nothign else) and old WW2-era German models.
Battle Rifle: I favor the FN FAL, but would like additional input.
Sniper Rifle: Our best choice appears to be the M40, a sniper rifle developed in 1966 and still in use today by the US Marine Corps
Anti-Material Rifle: Way too early, anit-material rifles aren't gonna be a thing until the 80s
Machine Gun: M2 if you want a heavy MG, as it is pretty much the only air-cooled HMG I could find, if you want a General-Purpose MG, options are the HK21, the Soviet PK (which doubles as a SAW), or the Rheinmetall MG3.
will do research on the other stuff Vinyl listed later

Spoiler:
- Standard infantry body armor; Cloth uniform. Nothing better to be had. Give them a helmet, too
- Assault rifle; AK-47 retooled/produced to chamber 7.62x51mm. People do this in slavworld, so we can too
- Battle rifle; C1A1 Enfield; since we have Canadia, we have access to their rifle plants and plans
- Sniper rifle; M40; Amerikaner, but pretty well exported. Still STANAG 7.62x51mm
- Anti-materiel rifle; Solothurn S-18/1100; I don't know why we need this, but 1100 could do AA and AT. Chambered 20x138mm
- Machine gun; FN MAG; still STANAG
- Submachine gun; Hafdasa C-4; Argentinian gun, so natively produced. Chambers in .45 ACP. Was a really good gun for its time.
- Shotgun; Winchester Model 37; old, but nobody made shotguns. 12 gauge, and I vote we use mostly flechette
- Pistol; Ballester-Molina; Argentinian clone M1911, .45 ACP.
- Grenades; Amerikaner Mk 2, pretty common fragmentation
- Mortar; Brandt mle 27, 81mm mortar. French
- Man-portable anti-armor weapon. AT-3 Malyutka, MCLOS slavshit, but they made a billion of them
- Main battle tank. T-55 or T-64. T-55 was cheap, but T-64 was arguably the best tank for its time despite a high cost
- Armored personnel carrier. M-59, as some S American nations used them
- Heavy anti-armor weapon. More Malyutka
- Static artillery gun. Idk what asking for
- Mobile artillery gun. M116 howitzer, Amerikaner 75mm
- Anti-air gun. 90mm Gun M2, Amerikaner
- Standard fighters. CF-5A, if we can get it; made in 1968. It was really really good, just F-5 in general.
MB-326, Brasil had some. Italian, pretty good.
Tons of old Gloster Meteors
- Standard bombers. Lancs and misc old WWII surplus, likely.
- Fixed wing attack craft; wat
- Multi-role craft; CF-5A, not really a type of plane yet
- Naval multi-role craft. See above
- Anti-Submarine. S-2 Trackers
- Attack helicopter. Nada, methinks
- Transport helicopter. Chinook
- Observatory helicopter. Nope
- Naval helicopter. Nop
- Amphibious assault ship.
- Torpedo boat.
- Corvette.
- Frigate.
- Cruiser.
- Destroyer.
- Battleship.
- Attack submarine.
- Missile submarine.
- Aircraft carrier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_aircraft_carrier_Minas_Gerais
Someone else do the rest, and decide if you like what I put. Remember that there can be differences in individual armament per nation due to supply differences. Just try to keep 7.62 and .45.

I have the weird feeling that the difference between static artillery and mobile artillery is that mobile artillery actually means "self-propelled artillery" and static artillery would be anything else, but it doesn't make sense ot me either...

So. Retooled -47s and possibly -16s (ACH and I can probably manage 16s in the cold of Canada/Alaska), FALs for standard rifles (all my d00dz are carrying these, or nearly), various assorted catterguns, sidearms, and sniper rifles, apparently.
Hrm. The 1975-but-only-68-tech thing is rather BS. And prevents me from bringing Iroquois-class Destroyers into the field. Damn.
(ACH, a thought - we could just dig through the archives a bit and start making our standard fighter/interceptors CF-105A's. Outruns everybody, and is well-armed to boot.)

Canada had a branch of Avro right? Couldn't we use Vulcans for our bombers? Or TSR-2, if it had gone into production it would have likely found its way to the Americas. Or Canberras, there were a shitload of those. I'd recommend the Vulcan as a nuke bomber, seeing as the thing was actually somewhat stealthy, and because it's the goddamn Vulcan. IDK how to get a hod of it though.
Also, CF-105 Arrow. 'twas cancelled but I doubt we give a particular shit about that.
Also, EE Lightnings, need more Lightnings.
For tanks, we could potentially have MBT-70s in small numbers, the thing is costly but mass produced it would hold advantages over any Russian teapots. After all it's the basis for the Abrums and Leo 2.
And we can have Cobras for attack helis, sadly the mighty Hind is just out of our time range.
Fixed wing attack craft, we could have A-7 Corsair IIs, or Buccaneers.

Reason I want F/CF-5 is because is dirt cheap; 1.5 million USD, and it outperformed most planes of the time. It's the furthest advanced plane we can really get. My big plan, because I only got alaska, is to modify them to go on my carrier, and then roflstomp and take over Hawaii. Basically, F-5 spam.

Fair, but as I said; CF-105A Arrow. 1967 - Mach 2.5ish, 6 air-to-air missiles (don't remember the model), and a fairly decent range. I'll use them as land-based interceptors.
Vulcan B.2 would be a lovely addition to the arsenal. Also, perhaps co-opt the 'merican B-52 (with some alterations) as a strategic heavy bomber?
MBT-70s... works for me. Leopard 1's might be available, have to check.

More then likely all our arsenals will need to be split as North/South to avoid over obvious metagame and keep within bounds of logic for what's obtainable for both sides. (E.G Canada and Alaska being right next to and being America are gonna have access to all dem shiny advanced techs while us south plebs have AK's)
Anyways more importantly let's define our map locations, Ima go grab the map and slice out a chunk.
