Since I've gotten 0 feedback on this, I'll try to wrap some of the stuff up by myself this weekend. At least I can pretty much mark FTL off the list, that's being done in another thread.

If there's no comment it must be okay. If people object later down the line it's their own fault for not providing criticism when it was asked for.

That's when people get tick and throw tantrums, though. I want to get this stuff as hammered-out as possible so that doesn't happen.

Just one question, what do the terms 'singleships' and 'attack line' refer to in the ship sheet?

"Single ship" is any small ship (strike craft, shuttle, etc.) incapable of carrying any other ships aboard. So, pinnance or below.

Attack line? Erm... carrier/cruiser lineship?

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought too, but what would 'complement' be then (which, btw, you spelled wrong, catsonmeth), unless he means the crew.

Complement means the crew, although I've also seen it used to talk about the various fighters, shuttles, dropships, and other small craft associated with a larger warship.

Okay, anyway, I have a suggestion: put all the info sheets in the OP so people can actually find them all in the same place and not have to search through this entire thread for them.
Edit: also a faction sheet template that features 'culture' in the faction instead of the race.

I was going to not post everything in the OP until it's all sorted out so I wouldn't have to go back and change it every time. Then I'd write another thread dedicated to finished and fleshed-out sheets where everyone could post without all of this clutter. I'll put them under every post I make from here onwards to make it easier for everyone else though. (E: Yeah, that was quite a bit of rooting, I'll put it in the OP.)

*Complement

The "Attack Line" is the angle from which the ship can project the most firepower. Basically the direction the most guns can point. On a destroyer and most other vessels meant for ship-ship combat, it'll probably be forward or lateral. A planetary assault ship will probably have a ventral attack line.

Single ship, as people said, is a small ship that comes out of the larger ship. A carrier would have a large single ship capacity.

EE: * I thought I already changed the culture around.

Faction Info Sheet and Timeline Entry Format
Spoiler:
Alrighty, we still need a beginning faction sheet format. I think a timeline is the easiest way to arrange the history, then we can adequately keep track of correlations and we wouldn't have to write another completely different sheet for post-galactic introduction. The downside to this would be that there would be tons of entries and each person would have to keep track of their information, but we'd get the most comprehensive information. We'd still have to have a bit at the beginning, though. Every timeline entry would have to abide by the entry format.

If a faction is divided into major provinces or districts, then basic information will need to be written about them as well if there are any notable differences.

I'm assuming you mean we haven't worked out the ship classification thing. This thread should not be going anywhere as this is separate from that one.
