Re: Orbits
At the very minimum, planets need to rotate because the sun is an actual thing in the sky you can go and visit. If planets rotate, then at the very least ships moving above them need to be able to to move along with the surface so they don't get stuck in a situation where they zip along going west b...
Orbits
How objects will orbit has been a frequent topic on the MC forum as of late, and I think it is worth it to review the current gameplan. I don't have a lot of time right now so I'll try to be brief and follow up a bit later. The most prominent thing about the Futurecraft universe is there is no centr...

Re: Youtube blocks ASCII art.
Internet ads are incredibly broken right now. Consultants sometimes flood social networking sites with bots to artificially inflate a company's user base. Even though these aren't and never will be customers, the consultants get paid the same just for making the appearance of having done something p...

It's more of an assembler. You need the blocks and parts on-hand.

Re: Youtube blocks ASCII art.
Just update your ad definitions list. Adblock is essentially a giant black-list of advertisers, so you need to keep it up to date to catch the newcomers. The only site where this may not be the case is Blip, but they are a special kind of asshole.

Re: SPACE TRAVEL
Eventually I think we will uncover a "why" better than "because the math checks-out", but for now we still need to focus on working out the "what" half of things. The discrepancy between gravity and the other 3 forces is top on that list, in my book. I have the feeling there is something significant...

3D printing has nowhere near the output or efficiency of traditional means for mass production, but for custom one-time parts it circumvents a ton of manufacturing overhead. I think the best example of this is the rocket fuel injector NASA 3D printed. Compared to the conventional manufacturing metho...

Re: SPACE TRAVEL
I was using the term conventional physics to mean the models which have experimental evidence backing their validity, as opposed to shot-in-the-dark physics like string theory. And quantum mechanics isn't metaphors, it's just drastically dumbed down to the point of being straight lies when people tr...

It's configurable, but this server uses a completely different system from what I normally work with. I don't really want to touch it if I can avoid it, but I will if it gets worse. However, if it is saying our server is making 1203 SQL connections, that is a serious problem. Considering that we hav...

Re: SPACE TRAVEL
Quantum Entanglement is possible, but the spin of particles cannot be manipulated in a way that is meaningful to data transmission. Observing an entangled particle forces its pair out of superposition, but you can't detect when this happens without observing it. Light getting absorbed and re-emitted...

Turns out, you really don't need to know math to make video games. The idea that you would is a myth perpetuated by Big Math.Central Core wrote:He can't count to three. Gabe never passed kindergarten math class.
