Re: [youtube]
I just tested it. The https doesn't work because the message board doesn't consider that a valid URL. That should be browser independent. Once the url is validated, the forum converts it into an <embed> tag, which has been unofficially supported by most browsers for a long time, but only became an o...

Re: Attack On Titan, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, and other anime topi
It's pretty common to swap out the OP and ED of an anime every 12-13 episodes. A big reason for this is that the songs are treated as advertising and are a big deal for music labels (late night anime make most of their money in DVD sales and merch rather than broadcast viewership). That's also why t...

Re: Attack On Titan, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, and other anime topi
Dragonball and Pokemon were objectively crappy low-quality shows, even for their respective time periods. You don't have to be ashamed about not liking them.

Re: Attack On Titan, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, and other anime topi
The best analogy I've seen for it is that anime culture in Japan is more or less the same niche as comic book culture in the west. It is accepted as a thing, but the general public is only familiar with the mainstream kids stuff; your Dragonballs and Ghibli films and whatnot. What I like about the m...

Re: So domain expiring in a few months
We don't have enough flash banners to qualify for an .edu domain.

Re: Cities, NPCs, and vehicles.
If the selling point was a completely immersive world, sure, but it's not. Our mission is to give players an unprecedented amount of freedom to explore and create, and everything else is just icing. I'll keep this in mind for down the road once we can get a better estimate on the work required to pu...

Re: Cities, NPCs, and vehicles.
I personally think trying to do that is a waste of a serious amount of time and energy which ought to be directed towards one of our many, many gameplay goals. In Minecraft, you are completely alone, and NPCs are closer to mobs than anything. In Futurecraft, we have the opportunity can create living...

Re: Cities, NPCs, and vehicles.
It's not a matter of performance hit. What we need to ask is can we reasonably pull off NPC crewmembers with enough uniqueness that they should be treated as individuals? Even in character driven games like Mass Effect, the crew members who weren't in the main cast didn't have names or dialog trees,...

Re: Cities, NPCs, and vehicles.
Crew experience is probably doable. That would at least give you a reason to try and keep them alive.

In any case, domain registration is really easy.

Re: So domain expiring in a few months
Country domains look sketchy, and will imply that we're not situated in the US (no offense to the half of you that are outside the US, but our current and future servers live in the US so deal with it.)
Also, I don't think fc-mod is all that bad of a domain.

Re: Cities, NPCs, and vehicles.
When I had mentioned city ruins, I only intended for it to apply to the thing I've been calling battleground cities, as a way of justifying why it has no population and why no one will be mad if you smash stuff. The point is that it should look the part of a battleground and not be repaired. For liv...

Because unless websites are in a funny language, they are all American by default.
