Re: Steam charging money for mods
Earlier this morning following discussion on the matter and the negative reaction of the modding community Bethesda and Valve announced that they remove the mod payment option and issue refunds to everyone who bought those mods in the past week.

Re: Steam charging money for mods
By the way I've been also following whats going on the Nexus forums (for those of you who don't know Skyrim Nexus is the biggest Skyrim modding community in existence right now) and I must say people are in panic. I talked privately with some ppl I knew there and I was actually asked "How would you ...

Re: Steam charging money for mods
Funny thing there are ALREADY problems with charges of scamming and illegal use of other modders' content ... Seems like the ship is sinking already. I was browsing the paid section of Skyrim mods and frankly there is nothing worth your buck. The most worthy of the bunch is some armor mod there, how...

Re: Steam charging money for mods
Really ? If for some obscure reason after updating the pack to 1.9 or something you discover that your pack crashes MC do you think you would be able to fix it ? Yeah in MC and Java in general its much easier plus you got the support of Flan on that front, even then its gonna be hard right ? Keep in...

Re: Steam charging money for mods
Nope, the vast majority ignores them and / or can't oblige anyway. Going through hundreds of mod entries, filtering out what I want and what I dont ,I stumble quite often upon mods that do not describe accurately what they are, usually no malicious intent involved but it happens nevertheless. I lear...

Re: Steam charging money for mods
You know another problem with charging for mods is lack of quality insurance. The adv of being a modder is no obligations, there are no obligations to release a mod, support it , provide certain content. Now that you charge money for your "product" there are obligations you MUST follow: - You MUST p...

Re: Steam charging money for mods
Anyway as I said the vast majority of mods wont be able to make money out of it at all, it will only ruin their DLs and motivation to continue. Greed is a dangerous beast ... @ Tiel it seems like you stopped reading my post after the first sentence (perhaps even the first part of the first sentence ...

Re: Steam charging money for mods
It merely means that much less people are going to get these mods. As someone who did mods I would find it unfitting to sell mods for money. It is content we make out of free will for our and the community's enjoyment, but I guess you are free to do whatever you want with your content. In general th...

Re: ISIS, Taliban announced Jihad against each other
Hehe even the old testament is unsure how to swallow a supernatural being that surpasses all limitations and in a way IS the universe we inhabit. There is a lot of contradiction regarding this concept because in the end of the day it is all an attempt to humanize something that is impossible to huma...

Re: ISIS, Taliban announced Jihad against each other
Going to war with people who share functionally identical beliefs with you is political, not religious. And even for ISIS, going head-to-head with the Taliban because of some minor differences in your Book of the Sky Wizard is a bit of a stretch. Thats not such a "Petty" difference between them you...

Re: ISIS, Taliban announced Jihad against each other
Well mate this organization condemned Israel 50 times since 2006, by comparison north Korea only 4 and in fact Israel was condemned there more than all of the states in the world COMBINED, thats 40% of all their resolutions. They invite terrorists to hold speeches about human rights (not ppl WE defi...

Re: ISIS, Taliban announced Jihad against each other
this is exactly why I gave up on understanding middle eastern politics. Nothing too complicated. If the Sunni / Shia Muslims hate something more than Jews and Murica combined that is each other. In fact they hate each other so much they are ready to ally with the later to take each other out. ISIS ...
