Movement to permaban Chairman_Tiel
As we all know, but which I should reiterate for the record, the account 'cannonfodder' (known to be an account belonging to Tiel, since he lost the details to his old one) has been repeatedly antagonizing users on the forum, and has received two warnings. Yesterday, Tiel used his old account (Chair...

Re: the man getting salty
Tiel used his old account (which he still had access to!) to remove Proto's posting and editing permissions in the Member's Lounge. I'm deleting the cannonfodder account as an alt, and giving Chairman_Tiel a provisional 6-hour ban to keep him from getting into the ACP.
I'm tick, and scared.

Terry Pratchett dies at 66
It happened yesterday. I found out through today's xkcd. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31858156 http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/terry_pratchett.png Title-text: Thank you for teaching us how big our world is by sharing so many of your own. I guess this is the kick in the pants I need to fina...

Re: I have an ideological question for you guys
I agree with Iv here. The logic of his point on the numbering system makes sense when extended to non-consoles, too: The original Macs are definitely retro, but they used a Motorola 680x0 processor, which is still being made today (in SMT microcontroller form). Hell, even the MOS 6507 in the Atari 2...

I have an ideological question for you guys
Is the PlayStation 2 a retro console yet? If not now, how long will it take?
If you ask me, it's not quite there yet, but only a couple of years away from earning the title.

Fixed, he should be able to register now. Also, the username "ECTrimble25" was banned for whatever reason.

Re: Foods & Drinks
I really love fried fish. Cod, catfish, flounder, whatever, though I'm partial towards halibut. Especially in beer batter or something similar, although standard breading is also good. Hummus and pita chips are great. I think I inherited my craving for this from my mom. There's a bit of an ideologic...

Yeah. Soon it'll be back to our usual collective bitterness and memeslinging.

You know that poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay"? Fuck that. This is going to last forever.
Welcome back. Hopefully we won't scare you off this time. Thanks for reminding me to get SoaSE.

Re: Moving the forum to a new host (maybe?)
I'm mainly fixated on cloud-based services because I live in an RV and, hence, am regularly stuck on some of the worst internet imaginable; therefore, I can't really host anything bigger than an SSH server. (Also, the most powerful spare machine I have is an RPi.) If anyone here has a spare server o...

Re: Random Rant
[rant] Why the fuck do all modern radios have to be so opaque? I picked up a 70s CB radio at a hamvention for like $5, and it's a brick, but every single thing in there is made with honest-to-God individual parts. I pulled open my ca. 2012 FM radio, and despite being the same size and having similar...

Re: Moving the forum to a new host (maybe?)
Hence my guess that ImageMagick is busted. It should resize the avatar automatically, but it obviously doesn't. I recall that it gave me some issues while installing, as well. I'll also check the code for the theme, but that *should* be okay. As I said. I can't act on any of this until next week, wh...
